SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant has food poisoning and might not play tonight against Sacramento in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.

Bryant missed the Monday morning shootaround and his status will be a game-time decision, team spokesman John Black said.

"He does have food poisoning," Black said. "It's probably from what he ate for dinner last night."

Bryant ate a cheeseburger and a piece of cheesecake from hotel room service. He began vomiting about 11 p.m. and continued through the night, Black said.

Black said none of the other Lakers complained of illness.

Well, attendance at their games is going down quickly. It seems that some Utahns could really care less about the Jazz also. I prefer to follow college basketball teams anyway.

Kobe will play, as I believed he would. The predictions are that he will be pretty weak and not 100%. However, I remember a finals game that Jordan had a few years ago, when he threw up the morning of the game, and then he one of his best championship games ever. I believe Kobe is every bit the competitor Jordan was, and he will have a great game tonight. The rest of the Lakers, I'm sure, will also have major chips on their shoulders tonight.

I think that game where Jordan had the flu and threw up was a game in the Finals against Utah. He went out and smoked Bryon Russell big time.

Who cares about the Flakers?

That's the 2-time defending world champion Flakers to you.

If Shaq were any shorter than 7', he'd be flippin' burgers for a living.

As it is, he's the biggest, baddest man to ever step foot onto that 94x50ft. piece of hardwood.

Isn't it about time for you to settle in for some tea and crumpets while watching the lads play cricket?.......remember to extend your pinky just so.

I would think the team would have cooks or food prep on hand, rather than having room service. In an opponent's town. There was an episode like this on "Coach" a few years back on ABC where a restaurant in town got the teams sick during an 'away' game.

Interesting. I must have missed that episode. It's a good idea for the future, maybe. However, what would happen if the cook was paid off?

1200 people served meals in the hotel on Sunday night and only one person got food poisoning. Interesting. What a coincidence! NOT!

Somebody should have told Bryant that there's an IN-N-OUT a couple of blocks from Arco Arena.

Actually, did you hear his response last night? He said the next time he wants a cheeseburger, he'll go to McDonald's! (He endorses them by the way)
