Man in Dress Robs Credit Union

SPOKANE (AP) - A man wearing a shoulder-length black or brown wig and a rumpled black cotton dress robbed a Spokane Valley credit union at gunpoint Thursday, the Spokane County sheriff's office said.

The robber stuffed the stolen cash into "his tasteful black leather purse," and walked away, said sheriff's spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan.

No one was injured, but the robber did escape with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The teller at Numerica Credit Union said the man entered the bank and handed her a note demanding cash. He displayed what she described as a black semiautomatic pistol.

Witnesses described the robber as about 35 years old, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-2, with a husky build and no facial hair. It appeared to them that he was likely wearing other clothing underneath the dress.

White shoes with dark socks completed the ensemble.

Does he know it's after Labor Day?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!

You're not old enough to remember when rape was a death penalty offence. You rape - you die. Period.

Now it's just a matter of a few months or years, until Mr.Rapist is out to do it again until hopefully he encounters a SecondAmendmentSister who will blow his sorry ass away forever and ever Amen.

Dead Animal Photos Being Sold

GOBLES, Mich. (AP) - Photographer Townsend Artman finds great beauty in wildlife, and animals are often his subjects.

But unlike most wildlife photographers, the creatures he captures with his camera are usually seen lying dead on the side of a road.

Although he considers himself an artist and not an environmentalist, Artman said he feels for the subjects of his unusual photographs.

"It's a horrible thing to have happen to these animals, caught up in man's highway of death," he said.

Artman conceded that his work is a hard sell — his asking price for each photo is between $5,000 and $10,000 — but he'd like people to view it with an open mind.

"I see irony, humor, gruesomeness, beauty," the Gobles resident said. "It's rich in those areas. It's OK if not everyone gets it. There are a number of artists who were out of the mainstream."

Artman first became inspired to photograph roadkill about a year ago, when he came across a dead skunk in the road as he drove his daughter to a day care center.

I take it back. Not ALL the freaks live in Florida.

You're right about that, me not being old enough to remember the death penalty for rape. Too bad they did away with it.

I saw the most awful thing on Oprah few weeks back. It's been discovered that the rape kit they use after a women is assaulted usually sits in a vault and is never tested for the DNA properties to match against other rape victims. They have hundreds of thousands of these kits, untested.

20/20 did a story on this and paid for some 50 tests to be completed at the cost of 500.00 each. They caught quite a few rapists still on the loose. "They just don't have the money to do all the tests.", was the excuse.

All I could think while this program aired was, BUT WE HAD TO HOOK UP EVERY SCHOOL TO THE INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT we had money for. Yeah, clintoon and hilly were all about protecting women and children. HURL!!!!

I'm sorry, I wasn't on the computer this weekend.

Yes, rats can get rabies, although we tend to link them with other nasty diseases. All mammals are able to get rabies.

Theoretically, if the rat was rabid and if your dog bit it near the nerve the rabies traveled from the rat wound (wound inflicted on rat by rabid animal that gave it rabies) to the rat's brain, then there is a possibility your dog could have been exposed. Or, if your dog got some of the rat's saliva in his mouth, this would be considered an exposure. But for that to be true, several coincidences would have to have occurred.

I don't know what the law states in Michigan, but if your dog is current on his rabies vaccination - I'd go ahead and have him boostered with a KILLED VIRUS VACCINE -- not a modified-live vaccine. Best to ck w/your local vet because he/she will know the law in MI.
