My fellow Freepers, I've messed up pretty badly here...
First, I'm already quite well in the doghouse with my wife (who phoned me this evening after going away with the kids yesterday for a couple of days) for spending so much time freeping and not getting anywhere near enough done on certain other things... you know how it is... :-/
NOW, in the middle of the late-night Florida election thing with McBride vs. Reno, I suddenly realize:
I haven't seen the cat.
The cat. Omigod, the cat. The cat I was supposed to feed last night, and twice today. The nicest cat you would ever care to meet. Beloved pet of our children.
The cat, unfed, neglected, has wandered away. All because I forgot to feed her. Forgot I was even supposed to feed her. We're in a new neighborhood, she's never been left unfed before, and I have no idea whether she will come back or whether she's headed for parts unknown.
OK, laugh at me. But would you also pray that the cat would come back, quick? The wife and kids are returning tomorrow afternoon.
This is a definite prayer request.
Man, have I messed up. :-/
Or: find a flashlight and shine it under your parked car, porch, crawlspace, etc. (and hope the neighborhood watch isn't TOO gung-ho). Kitty's eyes will reflect if she looks into the beam.
Last of all, are you SURE 100% that kitty is outside, lost? Did you look in ALL the places? I lost a cat for 4 hours until I found that he had sneaked into the pantry while it was open, climbed onto a shelf and fallen asleep. Try turning off lights and shining the flashlight again. Under beds - and up in the boxspring! - is a common location. So is up on a closet shelf. Under stairs or in basement windows or nooks is a favorite.
Sure hope you find kitty. Let me know!
You don't think that dusting, vacuuming and doing the laundry will be enough?
I spent ten straight hours FReepin', then realized I'd left the baby in the car. Outside in the driveway. Temperature about 98 degrees.
Not to worry, though. I went out and got her as soon as I had finished uploading the latest email jokes from my brother.
I just KNOW no one else had ever heard them before.
LOL
I left food out last night, which had disappeared by this morning, though I don't know whether it was our cat that ate it. Cat still nowhere to be found anywhere on property, so I left more food.
A little while ago I was in the house, heard a faint sound near the kitchen door -- then a very welcome "mew."
I have never been so glad to see a cat in my entire life. She really is the best cat I've ever known. Even though this is the first time I've ever been the cat-feeding person, I don't know how I could've forgotten the duty.
Many thanks for the support. Now I believe God answers prayer.
And yes, the dishes are all done. 8-)
I hope you find the little stinker.
Shake the kitty food box outside. That might lure her to come back. Or just put out a brick of CHEESE!
Maybe you should stick with a pet goldfish.
:)
