The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good morning Hole Dwellers! Rise and shine!
I had all of this typed out and then a power outage shut down my computer just as I was ready to hit the post button. Could you all hear my wail of anguish? LOL!
Here is breakfast!
Ham, cheese, onion and green peppers in a fluffy omelet along with 7 platters of nice, crispy bacon and juicy sausages. OT, your hash browns are ready! Coffee is brewed and juices are chilled. ENJOY!
I caught up on the thread for the most part and I see that carton is in on the castle...YIPPEE! Also, I see that Flat Frodo has begun his journey at long last. How exciting!
WN - Smeagol is so cute! You can see the mischief in those eyes. *grin*
Hair - great pics of Bay! Such a handsome fellow...and he knows it!
2J - I'll be sending some more money shortly. I'll put "Tang Contribution" in the memo line. Ha!
g'nad - Where are you? Check in if you have time. There's a roasted ham in the oven that I'm trying to hide from Corin, Vim and libarian, but I can't promise it will not be discovered!

Email from the Chaplain!
Wow! I say again, Wow! Let me say "Thank You!" from the outset. I received 2 or 3 packages yesterday (yes, we get mail on Sunday!) I received the Atomic Fireballs, Twinkies, Cupcakes, and the Moonpies. The Moonpies made it unharmed. I put those items (accept for the Fireballs which will probably be needed very shortly) yesterday at around 1100 zulu. As I glance over at the damage, I see that the Twinkies and Cupcakes are completely gone. There are only 5-6 Moonpies that are still standing. They didn't even last 24 hours! You remember the saying from Field of Dreams, "If you build it, they will come." I guess we have discovered (thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our friends of The Hobbit Hole) that "If you send it, they will come to my AO - Area of Operation!" I can't wait to get the Tang and binoculars. The "Renegade Chaplain" may feel the need to acquire some Tang and a set of Binoculars.
[I told him to consider keeping some for himself...he usually either sets the things up in the "Power House" or in his AO for the soldiers.]
Thank you very much again for your foresight to guard my identity. I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness. I told CH Watters [This guy is mentioned frequently in the Dispatch. I think he must be the head chaplain.] that the folks have donated for my soldiers and they don't even know my name. Wow! Once again, I am unable to express the gratitude of my heart. It's awesome! Our God is incredible and His goodness is indescribable. We are having some incredible Worship Services. We have an awesome Praise Team (led by SPC L, my Assistant). They are so gifted and talented and truly in love with God. God put together a great team of Chaplains to serve together. I am truly blessed in so many ways.
Two prayer requests:
Please pray for our St. Michael's Airborne Association 10K Race we are hosting on Thursday. We are hoping to have 1000 people participate.
Also, this weekend Dr. Gary Chapman is coming to Fort Bragg and leading 3 Conferences which we are broadcasting via VTC live here as well. Following the Conference, husbands and wives will have an opportunity to speak privately one on one live via VTC. This event is so much bigger than we are. Pray that all of the equipment will function and that everything will go smoothly. Just pray that God would bless and be glorified. Other than that, I don't know how to pray. I appreciate your prayers and the prayers of my friends as well.
Clay in His hands,
Chaplain, Logistics Task Force 307
82d Airborne Division
Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan

It's okay, but Hugh Grant cracks me up. No one can deliver boring lines like he does. I wondered about Two Weeks Notice. I'll have to get it from Netflix along with Moulin Rouge. I know what you mean about Hugh Grant. He is actually one of my favorite actors. I loved his part in Sense and Sensibility, it was just so sweet! I think my favorite scene of all his movies was from Notting Hill where he is going to the movies with Julia Roberts' character, but can't find his glasses, and ends up in the theater wearing his prescription SCUBA GOGGLES!
He's a fairly good dramatic actor as well; I enjoyed him in Desperate Measures along with Gene Hackman.

I don't like Hugh Grant.

You keep a list, don't you? ;-)
To: RosieCotton
Who is Hugh Grant?
To: Corin Stormhands
You keep a list, don't you? ;-) Yep...Leonardo, Hugh Grant, Tom Cruise...
To: RosieCotton
I do... he is a riot. Like I said, he can take the most bland line and turn it into a laugh-fest.

I remember that. In Two Weeks Notice, he plays a self-involved millionaire... but he does it with such charm, he is adorable.
Even typing this, I'm laughing at some of his lines.
I liked Desperate Measures also. And Sense and Sensabilities. I'm thinking of doing a Hugh Grant film festival in my house. I could use some laughs.
