Freeper Poll: Who are the best military analysts on TV?
March 18, 2003 | Me

Posted on 03/18/2003 3:49:26 AM PST by Norman Arbuthnot

There are quite a few former military men serving as analysts on the networks. Who do you think rank as the best. My top three are as follows:

1) Gen. Barry McCaffrey-The best rounded of the military analysts IMO. He seems equally at ease discussing weapons and tactics or geopolitics and diplomacy.
2) Col. Ken Allard-Similar to McCaffrey. He is a very bright guy who can discuss many topics authoritatively. Very knowledgable and articulate, but funny too.
3) Gen. Tom McInerney-A little stiff at times, but he explains air operations very well IMO.

Terrorist Ashwari and Terrorist (and serial murderer of Americans and children) Abu Arafat:
"In our opinion, the best reporter on American foreign policy is
our beloved Canadian Abu Jennings,
who took the time to sleep in bed with both of us.
Like us, he hates America."

Paul Vallele (SP?) of FoxNews, hands down.

McCaffery? Clinton's Drug Czar?

Paul Vallely of Fox News is regularly invited to attend confidential Defense Department briefings on strategy and tactics, held for the benefit of former military men now outside the government to keep them informed of what is going on. In other words, Rummy and staff deliberately keep Vallely "in the loop". That puts him a large, large notch above a lot of the other ex-military talking heads.

It is possible that a few other military pundits on other networks are also invited to these meetings, so if anyone is aware of that please post it.

McCaffery? Clinton's Drug Czar?

I won't hold his service in the Clinton administration against him. McCaffrey's career as a soldier is very impressive, among other things he has three purple hearts. I think he accepted the Drug Czar post simply to be of service to the country, not because he wanted to get in with the Clinton crowd. I've never heard him defend x42.

Major Bob Bevelaqua on Fox News.

I second that. He is so politically incorrect and that is SO refreshing.
