Ari should have replied, "Hey, it's not my fault you're an idiot."

If anyone can figure out why I can't keep a thread in News/Activism, please let me know.

Seriously? Some reporter asked Ari why he didn't shoot down their expectations? That's the response of a 2 year old. I think Ari should show up to the next briefing with teething rings and Huggies.

I can not believe some of the questions these reporters are asking. You'd think the was all about them. Geesh Louise!

BTW, Hello everyone ;^)

This Morning in downtown DC.

Morning Protestors Block Pennsylvania Avenue

Police shut down a major stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue near 14th Street during this morning's rush hour, because of protestors lieing down in the intersection.

They used PBC pipes to link themselves together so as to make it harder for the police to take them away. Can you believe these nut cases?

I guess because some professor breaking some number barrier and the backlash against Indian IT workers is more compelling reading...

YOu know I haven't a clue as to anything about how this joint is run, and I'm beginning to doubt that anyone else does either.

You may look forward to college hoops threads, accompanied by the requisite NeckCar threads over the weekend however.

The check supporting our guys is in the hands of the SnailMail types - shop hard.

Oh that's right!! We have Neckcar to look forward to this weekend.

Thank goodness they start the threads the night before so we have a heads up. I need at least an 18 head start on my beer drinking.

I'm enjoying seeing how small these anti-war protests have been lately!

Maybe certain people who shall remain nameless have an "in" with certain moderators. Just a theory.

Unfortunately, most of the J-school grads I've encountered in my reporting days are clueless and thoroughly indoctrinated. From what I hear, the nation's journalism schools don't teach the fundamentals of reporting a story thoroughly and factually, but stress the importance of shaping public opinion

Yes, I've had similar experience. While trying to hire a book editor for our publishing company, one candidate with masters in journalism from U FL abysmally flunked our spelling and grammar test. How did he get through J school? He told me that teachers only graded on "political correctness," not students' ability to write. The teachers are doing a horrible disservice to these students.

We had hundreds of applicants for the job. I ended up only looking at resumes from candidates over 50, as they might have had a decent education. The happy surprise was a 22-year-old Phi Bet from Michigan, who was born, I think, knowing his stuff.

The best reporters I've worked with had degrees in English (mine was in Spanish, what do I know?). We had a brand new journalism grad a few years ago who absolutely could not write a coherent sentence. He lasted a few months before being told he wasn't cut out for that line of work. At last report, he was a counter guy for a car rental company.

If you think it's bad in print media, try speaking to someone in broadcast ( television ) journalism. They never look at you, they look through you, especially if there is an agent or a mirror on the other side.

Cheney Chick met a Quebec journalist last summer. A total lib. She could tell you all about her experience from a non-journalist perspective.

My brother's a TV news photographer in Pittsburgh. He has no use for the reporters and reporterettes, their fixations with their hair and general lack of intelligence.

Look at Valerie's beautiful butterfly

There is beauty all around us, if we take the time to look for it.

Yeah, she was so hung up on the "Axis of Evil" comment. Spent quite awhile also talking about how the US sees itself and the 'ROW' (rest of the world). Quite uppity in attitude, this Canadian.
