IIRC, we got 9/11 without having done anything! The Arab street is going to be mad at us no matter what we do, so we might as well take out as many of these terrorist dictators as we can.

We don't give a sweet sh!t why they're mad at us, Pancho, but we do want to arrange things so they understand that killing Americans is not the panacea their deranged little minds think it is.

Get the picture, Pancho?

Israel. The US supports Israel. Israel is a democracy and represents a threat to the aristocracies of the Arab World. Democracy is both confusing and threatening to the Arab oil sheiks.

Emphatically NO! We are safer now than we were on Sept/10/01. The Arabs understand power. They now have more understanding. Once we have DNA 'd Saddam's corps, we will capture Bin Laden, and do the same.

In addition to previous posts, I would like to add that in the Middle East, population has been "educated" in their school systems to hate Jews and anyone associated with them. Dictators ferment anti-Americanism in order to keep pressure off themselves. This hatred gets out of hand even for the dictators who allegedly are "friends" of US. So, they try to play both sides. IMO, this anger will continue as long as Saudi Arabia's Wahabi (sp) schools keep fostering such sentiment, and, then, it will take generations.

the war will spur increased anti US terrorism to a similar extant as the strike against Lybia by RR.

Wasn't 9/11 a result of our perceived interference in the Middle East? I don't think we can say it came from nowwhere.

"...perceived interference in Middle East?"

The attacks on our embassies and Marine barracks in Saudi Arabia were supposedly a result of the above, too. IIRC, UBL's terrorist acts against us and our interests supposedly stemmed from his anger at our presence in Saudi
Arabia and the Saudi's bought him off or he would have terrorized them.

Right, I agree with you. My point is that most Middle Easterners don't want us in their countries, or interfering in their relations.

That frame of mind sure is working well in Isreal. Look at how much the violence has gone down. Oh wait.....

Politics have prevented Isreal and the US from putting paid to the "Palistinian" question. The Palistinian people will welcome their liberation whan it comes too.
