Since the tanks have rolled in and are here to stay I believe we can say that the Iraqi War is over. It is all over the news that this will be the day that Bagdad fell.

Wait just a minute. There are still Republican Guards and Ba'ath loyalists in Tikrit. It's not over yet.

I can hear the fat lady warming up but it will be a bit before we hear her sing. The North, thanks to Turkey and the French, still has to be taken care of.

The hardest part is over, but Saddam has to be taken care of/dug out of rubble and identified.

I'll wait til General Franks says it's over. Or, when the fat lady sings.

It ain't over til it's over.
The mopup goes on and Tikrit has to fall (which it will). Our troops are still in Harm's Way until all the names are taken, all the bad guys dead or in prison, and Iraq has a new Assembly (Congress or whatever is determined.)
And the French apologize profusely....Tripe eaters all..

It ain't over until Hillary! complains about the peace.
To: OutSpot
It's not over until Maureen Dowd pronounces the operation mired in a "quagmire".
To: Cagey
Well, Hilary is fat enough, but I hear she doesn't sing very well. Watching Saddam's fall is probably causing her to wail a good bit though.

The Saddam City part of Baghdad is still extremely dangerous and they need to pacify it before moving to Takrit.
Heard one report that Saddam's family is safe in Damascus.
