You're the Producer: How Would You Change "Fox and Friends"?
March 21, 2003 | Paul Klenk

I enjoy watching "Fox and Friends" each morning on Fox News. No, I'm not completely crazy about every show, but I do enjoy it.

This morning, however, one of my pet peeves received the last straw as I watched a clip of radio "personality" Mancow. I think Mancow is a nosebleed, and finally wrote friends@foxnews.com to let them know.

I'd like to know what other Freepers think of the show. Do you like it? What are you least favorite aspects of the show? If you were the producer, how would you change this program?

I'll start off with my own suggestions.

NEW CHANGES FOR FOX AND FRIENDS:

1. Get rid of Mancow; he comes across as an idiot on television. His Web site includes a lot of profanity and sick humor. Conservatives don't need that right now.

2. The on-air personalities [Steve, E.D. and Brian] behave like their only audience is conservatives. Sometimes this makes them come across as twits.

3. The need to talk with people on the street more. This would make the show a bit more interesting, and would encourage more people to visit the sidewalk outside their studio in midtown.

4. A GAP Store has a prominent sign across the street from the studio, which shows up on camera and looks like a paid ad. Just a little thing, but it bothers me. [Am I the only person who sees this sign?]

Okay, now let me know YOUR thoughts...

"The on-air personalities [Steve, E.D. and Brian] behave like their only audience is conservatives. Sometimes this makes them come across as twits."

Because??? Are they twits because their audience is conservative? Or are they twits because they are conservative?

I really think twit is a better description of Aaron Brown.

While I disagree that it makes them look like "twits," I do understand and agree with what you mean. Like it or no, commies do watch the show, too, and there must be a more earnest effort to convert those unwashed masses through old fashioned logic and reason. F&F doesn't do that too often.

Oh and I love Mancow.

F&F is produced in the fashion of a morning-drive radio talk show, in FM style.

It is supposed to be different than the 3 network morning shows.

Mancow is a rabid conservative Chicago radio talk show host who will put his actions behind his mouth but yes he can be vulgar.

F&F is highly preferable to the NBCABCCBS clones but they have one flaw that seems to be predominant with the "conservative" networks/shows.

They keep interrupting each other.

O'Reilly is the biggest sinner but all of them seem to be competing with each other to talk.

My advice? Shaddup and lissen!

You deserve an answer to this question:

First, "no" and "no" to your question. But more seriously, they treat their show like a little club house, acting silly too much of the time and treating some of their guests to light-heartedly.

I think what they need is some more dignity...

Mancow is sometimes over the top, but I disagree with you about the people on the street. I would probably stop watching if they did that. That's what the new show "Dayside" is about. It's not my thing.

I call the show Fox 'n Kids because they cut up so much, almost to the point of being amateurish. They break away to an adult for the news, however, which is really why I watch it, anyway.

But I refuse to watch the majors because of ABC-NBC-CBS-propaganda-speak. And CNN? - there, I've made my stomach turn again....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh...the doctor warned me....ohhhhhhhhhh
