Well, I didn't call him OLD! ;) I do occationally remind him of the fact that when I was in kindergarden, he was 17 yrs old and near to graduating from high school. Such a dirty [not so old] man. Once in a while in public, I'll call him daddy... the only thing I *always* leave alone and never poke fun at is his hair. (he doesn't have much left) He's very sensitive about that. Keep in mind that he once confused the date of our anniversary with his ex'wife's so I am allowed to poke fun at him whenever I deem it entertaining.

"Too bad about his back. "

Yeah, his back does suck. He could very well end up in a wheelchair before he's 50.

All that talk about wine and cheese and crying democrats made me hungry for a nice rare steak. I was going to fix meatloaf tonite, but I'm going to put some mesquite WOOD in the GRILL and take out juicy, RED MEAT T-BONES instead, cook some new potatoes and serve them with BUTTER, SOUR CREAM & fresh chives, steam some cauliflower, and serve a nice CALIFORNIA Merlot WINE with it. And have a SMOKE while the STEAKS cook. Did I leave out anything that is supp[osed to be "bad" for me except sweets? Take that, health nazis! And as long as I don't eat the potatoes, I won't gain an ounce.

Sixteen oz Black Angus grilled over mesquit (sp), with a big old tater and lots of ice cold Beer. And real butter.

There were a couple of french wines we liked, and I was very fond of brie cheese, but now we only buy wine from anyplace but france, and stilton cheese instead. A also changed two of my perfumes to ones that are made in New York.

I have drank American wine, with an occasional Italian, for as long as I can remember, the brie I buy (because I love it) is not french, I prefer gorgonzola over bleu cheese, and I rarely wear perfume.

My only problems are that my first and last names and those of my daughter and husband are all French - sacre bleu!!!!

Actully the Dutch make an excellent Brie.

Thank you - just wish I could remember the brand name. Although there are several others - in fact I rarely ever see one labelled 'product of france' in any of the supermarets I shop.

Good girl!!!!!!!!!

I made meat loaf with smashed potatos and gravy last night.

Hubby was in and out of here all morning and it really got on my nerves and just when he figured he got the rest of the day off because things were so slow all heck broke loose and so he is still not home from work.

He called me about 3:45 to offer take-out for dinner - his way of telling me but not telling me he was going to be late - again!!!

OH well, at least I get out of cooking tonight!!!

Get a hibatchi (only need 6 pieces of charcoal) and go to a park. I used to do that all the time when I lived in apartment.

I could not survive without taters, smashed, baked, fried, baked, etc.

Unfortunately, I still see it way to often.

Ah, Mon Ami, I can relate. My husband is of Canadian French ancestry on both sides of his family, and our oldest daughter has a French name, too. My mom gave me a French name, as well, and she was of Mexican ancestry! Mon Deu, the shame...Love Italian wines, and Gorgonzola is better than Bleu.

I've gotten that way over the years - I used to avoid potatos as much as possible. Hubby is now pleasantly pleased with how often I cook or suggest them for dinner.

But I do love my rice!!!!!

I have to admit I haven't looked of late. I've been more interested in trying to restock my freezer of late than in stocking in all the extras we always kept on hand.

Costco is good for restocking the freezer.

My husband is also of French Candian ancestry, but only on one side - he's the one with the nice American first name. My mother is of Irish ancestry yet gave me the French name - after a character played by Audrey Hepburn.

I would be in serious deep trouble if I found a need to treat Italian products they way we are doing the French ones. Mon Dieu is right!!!
