Just a little LOVE SONG...It comes at a time when everyone needs a breather in their complex lives, someone write a song that stirs the deepest emotion, from the recesses of their soul to the twinkle in their eyes.
Ares son of Zeus; god of prophecy, light, poetry, and music, may not have started it, but he at least recorded it, if only in mythology, music is emotion. Songs in general, and LOVE SONGS in particular, have answered our need to express our inner passion, yearning, and desires, into sounds and words.
Poetry, and verse do translate into feelings and conjure up strong desires, lust, and yearnings, but when blended with sound it seems to hit the desired note in all of us..
Share with us, if you would please, your idea of the true love song, and if I assure you I won't tell anyone, tell me how it worked on you.... fingers crossed, eyes squeezed shut, mouth covered... ;)

When I was 17, Friday nights were date nights and Saturday nights were for hanging with the Buds. You put the 'Bread' 8-track in on Friday night and the Skynyrd tape in on Saturday night.
If a picture paints a thousand words
Then why can't I paint you?
The words will never show
The you I've come to know
If a face could launch a thousand ships
Then where am I to go?
There's no one home but you
You're all that's left me to
And, when my love for life is running dry
You come and pour yourself on me
If a man could be two places at one time
I'd be with you
Tomorrow and today
Beside you all the way
If the world should stop revolving
Spinning slowly down to die
I'd spend the end with you
And, when the world was through
Then, one by one, the stars would all go out
Then you and I would simply fly away....
Painfully embarassing to look back on it now. 'Bread'?! sheesh...
But, it DID work.

Motionless
Motionless
a blessing waits
amoung loving voices
my hope is to remember
love is forever
without him freedom cries....

FRANKLYN MAC CORMACK was a true romantic disk jockey back in the very good old days in Chicago. He had a show called the TORCH HOUR every night that every radio in the lovers lane had on as we sat watching the moon over Lake Michigan... I know that I will never live this down.. sheeesh

Do you remember when we met
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you how much I love you
Come with me, my love
To the sea, the sea of love
I want to tell you how much I love you
Come with me, to the sea
Do you remember when we met
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you how much I love you
.

.
Come with me, to the sea
Come with me, my love
To the sea, the sea of love
I want to tell you how much I love you
Come with me,.......
to the sea............

I added that site to my Favorites folder and will check it out closer when I get a chance. I clicked on a couple of songs but I have to chuckle everytime I hear "This Magic Moment" by Ben E. King. I immediately think of 'Squints' Palledorous from the movie, The Sandlot.

MIDI - IT MUST HAVE BEEN LOVE Lonely evenings…when my wife was…with a woman…once again
Has she been a lezbo…all of her lifetime…has she always…hated men…hated men
I will miss your porcelain glow…very much
I love you my sink…but it’s over now
I love you my sink…more than Monica Cow
I love you my sink…but it’s over now
I must carry on…I will do it somehow
January’s…fast approaching…Bush will be here…it’s the end
Interns gave me pleasure…but nothing like you…it is silly to pretend
So I will miss your porcelain glow…so very much
I love you my sink…but it’s over now
Love you my sink…more than Monica Cow
I love you my sink…but it’s over now
I’ll try to carry on…somehow I’ll carry on
(short musical interlude)
I love you my sink…but it’s over now
I love you my sink…more than Monica Cow
I love you my sink…but it’s over now
Yes, I must carry on, I know…I’ll do it somehow
I’ll miss you my little sink…what are you gonna do
I am so afraid that I’m gonna see…they will be trashing you
I love you my sink…but it’s over now
You were my soulmate…you were my soulmate
I still love you
I love you my sink
I love you my sink
I still love you

Fields of Gold, Eva CassidyCarlo! What a perfect day to have this thread!! I have many converted songs, and just can't figure out how to post them. This one by Eva Cassidy is just beautiful. I was hoping to post it along with the words, but haven't figured that out yet.
You old romantic, you ! I love it !
