On the last thread you said:

"That's the best description that I've heard of how the Clintons "governed" this country. They had/have no idea of how to lead or how to govern, they focus grouped all of their decisions to see what was popular, and took all the perks of the office for themselves and their cronies. It's almost as if they were aliens, imitating what true leaders do."

Actually, I've thought about this ever since the moment I watched his announcement that he would run for president. It wasn't just "what was popular" or all the perks.

Everything that man did in public.....every move, word, thought....was aimed at: How will I look, how will this play, on TV? It was the "affectation" that drove us all crazy. That's what I meant when I said they were "playing" government.

In the first campaign it was: how will this play on tonight's news? In the next 6 years, it became: How will this play with the "important" journalists? In the last 2 years, it became: How will this play with the historians..."my legacy"?

The dictionary defines "solipsism" as:
The theory or view that the self is the only reality.

That's Clinton.

There came a time when I was almost convinced he didn't really exist anymore, that he had become no more than that little figure in my TV set.

Unfortunately for our country, he was all too real.

Thanks for the new vocabulary word. Can you give me the phonetic pronounciation? This is one I'm going to use.
