More than 30k donors and less than 1MM raised equals average donation size around $30. It is >very< expensive to raise money in such small increments, particularly when you do it with national mass mails to conservative lists, and on-line credit card donations (which carry huge fees in addition to the consultants' bite).

Sadly enough, the only efficient way to raise money is a series of Washington, New York, Houston, Dallas, etc. dinners with 100 people at $1,000 a plate...

Perhaps big campaign dinners raise a lot, but every bit helps. What I do is send small amounts whenever I can to candidates I really want to see win.
In the case of Dave Rogers, he got my latest ten bucks sent in the mail yesterday.
