Kerry's FBI File
Townhall.com ^ | Feb, 25, 2004 | Gary Aldrich

Evidence suggests the Vietnamese soldier had previously been wounded by a 50-caliber round. Veteran friends of mine tell me if a person is hit by a 50-caliber round, it is highly unlikely they could continue to be a threat, because of the hydro-shock associated with the impact of the round. I am assured this is true regardless of where the enemy was hit.

More and more evidence suggests kerry was not the "War Hero" he would lead us to believe - more like an opportunist who would risk his men's lives for his own aggrandizement

Kerry rec'd 3 Purple Heart Citations for wounds. By his own admission these 3 wounds were mere scratches requiring him to only miss 2 days of duty.

On the other hand there still seems to be a great deal of time missing from Bush's National Guard Service.

I don't think Bush wants to make service a campaign issue.

I was very skeptical about Bush military records too. But this sight has the documents and I looked at everything. He looks like he did his required time. I went through it like a nit picking comb! I'm going to nit pick at Kerry's military record. First thing Kerry has to release them. Does he have something to hide?

There's no reason for the war records to be a campaign issue. President Bush served his time and was honorably discharged. Combat service would be a strength, but lack of combat service is not a weakness. Missing drills would be a weakness, but no harm was done. The president made up his time, so the issue is dead. John Kerry seemed to do well in Vietnam, but if his service record were really a strength, he'd be willing to release the records. He may have had the right stuff to command a Swift boat thirty years ago, but everything he's done since that time shows that he doesn't have the right stuff to command anything bigger than a Swift boat. He's certainly not commander-in-chief material.

Well, four and a half

Bush was appointed to the National Guard the day he applied. There was a nationwide waiting list of over 100,000. Was his appointment illegal? No it was not. Does his appointment nepotism? I think it was.

Then we have Bush's flight evaluation. He actually scored a 25(out of 100). This is just above "too stupid to fly". He was honorably discharged. So what? The DC sniper was honorably discharged even though he was convicted in a couple of court marshals. If Bush DID his service then someone who served with him should come forth and say they saw him at drills. So far no one has. If he did drill, then someone WOULD remember as the pilot's fraternity is small and closely knit.

Men who drilled with President Bush have come forward and have said that he was there. The guy who claimed that the president was never there has backed off his comments in the light of the evidence. George Bush missed some drills. No one disputes that fact, but he made up his time before leaving.

You say that he had very poor scores on his tests. Others have said that he wasn't brilliant but was solid. The standards for pilots are very high, and "too stupid to fly" is still smarter than most people you'll meet.

He likely got into the Air National Guard because of his family connections. A pilot's life is not the safest in the world, and if he just wanted to avoid risk, there were safer places that the family could have placed him. Another possibility is that he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and fly for the military. The Air National Guard might have been the only opportunity.

The president won't and shouldn't make an issue of Vietnam, but the issue isn't strong for Kerry either. Kerry served in Vietnam, but the story of how he won his medals is suspicious to many people. His activities after he returned were despicable. If he really saw the atrocities that he claimed to have seen, why didn't he act to stop them at the time? If his record is really that great a strength, why doesn't he release his records? You seem determined to think the worst of the president, but the reality is that the issue doesn't help either candidate.

I don't remember white socks being correct for class A's and low quarters. Then again, Kerry makes up his own rules, doesn't he?

I'm guessing that you are voting for Kerry?

That's not a US uniform so white socks are okay for Kerry as long as he earns those purple hearts while acting as target practice.

I believe Kerry's medals are as phoney as a three dollar bill. Where are his Medical Officer reports. These are a minimum requirement for the Purple Heart. I think he used his Kennedy political connections to get the three Purple Hearts as quick as possible and then leave. He seemed all too familiar with the regulation that would get him out of Vietnam.
