Mayor Fitch has sound conservative ideas, why would any on here dismiss him so readily??? Or has true conservatism just become a catch phrase? If you look at his website you can see that he is of the Reagan ilk of conservatives, not the same as so many RINOs we currently have in congress. I was in the Kilgore camp as I believe he has done a great job dealing with crime, but there is more to a governor than just a tough on crime stance. As a citizen of Fauquier County, and a native of Warrenton proper, I can tell you that if Mayor Fitch can wipe out a $3 billion debt the city had, while cutting the taxes he has cut simultaneously, he seems like the right candidate NOT to squander the billion dollar surplus our state has found. Well, that is if there is any of it left when the next governor takes office.

Then you need to learn more about Jerry Kilgore.

Fitch may be a good guy and a sound conservative. But he is virtually unknown outside of Fauquier County.

Good Grief!!! His Senators are Potts and Chichester. If he really wants to make a difference why doesn't he run for one of THOSE seats??????

Actually, in the GOP primary, I welcome all comers...it's when the RINOs start running as Independents in the General Election that I get perturbed.
