Oh I know FR is having it’s own problems still as I’ve been getting some weird blank pages and such, but the blue screen of death is DEFINITELY originating from my computer. :-)

Thanks though - I WISH it was FR related just for my own benefit to tell you the truth. I’m putting off sliding in my recovery disc at the moment as I know it’ll take hours to get things set back up regarding patches, software, etc...

Liberty, I know little about computers, but a fellow taught me one thing a novice can try as a last resort, w/o risking everything. In my case, it was a pesky little worm that would reinfect the computer every time I restarted, having repeatedly eliminated the bugger through anti virus (Norton, blech!). He suggested I turn off system restore then restart, as the worm (or whatever) would leave a trail of breadcrumbs and follow it back if system restore was left on..

It worked then, and worked again later on another computer. Just remember to turn it back on after you restart.

And get rid of Norton if you have that, and get the McAffee Ultimate or Pro.

That's the only trick I got, hope it helps.

PS - Just in case anyone is interested, I was able to publish a post on my blog yesterday about Obama’s latest Campaign Ad “1982” in which he criticizes McCain for not using a computer and eMail. The thing is, Obama’s people didn’t happen to think about the reason WHY McCain doesn’t do these things. It was revealed back in 2000 in a published article - now archived at Forbes.com - that McCain cannot use a computer due to the permanent injuries sustained after he was tortured in a Vietnam POW Camp for over 5 years. PPS - If anyone likes to have fun “debating” with liberals, there are a few posts in the comments section of Part I that are particularly fun to read and respond to, as well as some poor chap who seems to be missing words, and can’t spell Obama correctly. However, with the last one, you’ll have to go to a different post on my blog to read that - even though it is very clearly in response to yesterday’s posts - because he seems to have managed to get lost trying to post his comment. He also accuses me (I think... LOL) of not having the courage to publish his response. I’ve let him know that he can re-post it to the right article if he wants, and also gave him a few pointers. (It would be amusing if it weren’t so scary that this person might actually be voting for Obama in November...)
