Republicans, Democrats criticize Jindal's speech

NEW YORK – Insane. Childish. Disaster. And those were some of the kinder comments from political pundits about Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and his response to President Barack Obama's speech to Congress on Tuesday night. Jindal, 37, a Rhodes scholar and son of Indian immigrants, is considered a rising star in Republican ranks and a likely 2012 presidential candidate.

GOP leaders, looking for a fresh face for the party's image, tapped Jindal earlier this month for the high-profile task of rebutting Obama's first address to a joint session of Congress.

But in both style and substance, Jindal's speech has drawn flak from Republicans and Democrats alike.

Well, it must be bad if Juan Williams didn't like it. I didn't hear Jindal’s speech but it couldn't have been bad if it claimed government is the problem and it can't be trusted. Why doesn't the AP quote Anne Coulter and Michael Savage to get the democrat reaction to an Obama speech? There's nothing but a bunch of dishonest lowlifes at the AP.

i have seen Jindal speak in person and I saw him in the SOTU Response. What you saw on Tuesday night was Bobby at his worst, I am not sure what was wrong but everything from his message to his delivery was terrible. In person, in a room of people Bobby is great.

Bobby Jindal can govern but he's not too great making love to a Tele-Prompter.

Obama is great making love to a Tele-Prompter but he can't govern.

Given the choice, the American electorate, their brains fried by American Idol, will vote for the latter.
