We can say he is Socialist till we are blue in the face, but when we correlate what his policies are and Chavez's policies it will blow the lid off this thing. It has become very clear that the Obama administration is following the Bolovarion revolution playbook of Chavez. Please take a second to read the following excerpts from a recent Open Democracy article about Chavez and review the reference links below so you can see how I arrived at this premise. Tell me if you think any of it sounds familiar
A new way of socialism that emphasize cooperation, motivation, and organization. The five motors included: the granting of enabling powers to the executive - as a means of introducing reforms to the institutional and economic framework of the state; constitutional reform; educational reform; expansion of communal power and the creation of a new geometry of power, the latter intended to enhance the responsibilities and political importance of communal councils.
In 2006, legislation was introduced recognising community councils as a principle form of political organisation. The councils complement and bring coherence to the multiple networks of social organisations that deliver the misiones programmes and organise political activities, such as the water committees, land committees, health committees, electoral battle-units and endogenous development groups.
With the injection of $5 billion in funding for 2007, the government aims to increase this to over 25,000, allowing communities to become the new "eye" of political power in a radical, bottom up vision of democracy in which national government is balanced by grassroots power.

Norman Mattoon Thomas (November 20, 1884 - December 19, 1968), and some of us are old enough to remember him running for President, was a leading American socialist, pacifist, and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America.
Norman Thomas said this in a 1944 speech:
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” He went on to say: “I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.”

There has been no illusion for me from the start.
GRRRRRRRRR!
Wreen’t their (Chavez’s and Obama’s) campaign also stikingly similar. IIRC, I read that some of Obama’s campaign slogans (maybe, “Yes, we can!” or some such) were retreads from Chavez’s campaign too.
They mighta even had a common campaign advisor...
We let a man who cannot even prove his citizenship stay in the White House and someone is surprised that he wants to change America into a Socialist-Communist country?
My point is that we need to write, say it, yell it.... from the dam rooftop if we have to, but it has to get out there.
The only way massive bloodshed and death in America can be averted at this point is a military coup. Otherwise, blood will flow, either as a result of a revolt (unlikely) or as a result of socialist thugocracy such as in Venezuala and Zimbabwe (likely).
Maybe we can organize marches on the satalite offices of Senators & Congressman in our states. If we do it on the same day and alert the media, we gotta get a look. Maybe we can lie to them and tell them that we are marching for a Liberal Cause and they are sure to show up!
