No. We (NG unit, superior unit award) were called off within four hours of mobilizing to clear around a city over there for our assigned inf. brigade and were very busy getting ready at home at the time. Gens. decided that they wouldn't go into the cities at that time, so we stayed home. It was about all over then. ...back to lots of schools and public affairs stuff south of the border.

...went through initial training (OSUT: 13 weeks) at Ft. Leonard Wood during my 30s (crazy “old man”). ...in my fifties now and building a place on the Rockies over the next couple of years (away the grid and extreme cold, so extra building required). ...no more booms except for teaching the teens with very old fashioned (single action, etc.), big-bore firearms. They want to be engineers (real engineers, who design things to make and build—civilian type). They love old westerns, and the rancher neighbors keep their interests going.
