The Democrats exhaled in relief yesterday after the CBO announced the Senate Finance version of health care would only cost 829 billion dollars and even better news...it will help decrease the deficit by 81 billion dollars. Oh happy day! You could feel the enthusiasm and back slapping from Washington D.C. out to the far reaches of the west coast. Obama was right, we could get this thing done for under a trillion dollars and reduce the deficit at the same time.
Time to pop the balloons. There's nothing to celebrate here. Politicians in Washington never cease to amaze. They throw dollars around like confetti at New Years Day parades. It drifts about in the air and when it falls to the ground someone sweeps it up and throws it away. It's gone forever. Then the next parade comes around and the cycle repeats itself. You, the taxpayer and your children's, children's, children are left to pay the price. Washington is pushing us farther and farther into the "black hole" of debt. Never mind that all our other government funded programs are failing, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and the Post Office. We need another one stacked on the back of the taxpayer.
For most of us, it's fantasy to imagine 1 million dollars in our bank account let alone 1 billion. By the time the Democrats are done passing this bill, 800 or 900 billion, it might as well be 1 trillion dollars. Do they realize that one trillion seconds is longer than recorded history, about 32,000 years? The
Wisdom Journal has an article entitled
"How Much Is A Trillion" I have supplied the link and reading it will put in perspective the massive amount of money we're talking about.
These people will destroy this country from within. They must be stopped. Our message must be louder and reflected at the voting booth. Their Utopian world will destroy us all.

How much is a trillion dollars. Imagine a football field stacked eight feet deep with $100 bills.

What is a Trillion Dollars? Here's an illustration:
We'll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slighty fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go.
A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2" thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.
Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it.
While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet...
And $1 BILLION dollars... now we're really getting somewhere...
Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we've been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it's a million million. It's a thousand billion. It's a one followed by 12 zeros.
You ready for this?
It's pretty surprising.
Go ahead...
Scroll down...
Ladies and gentlemen... I give you $1 trillion dollars...
Notice those pallets are double stacked. And notice the to-scale man in the lower left corner. ...and remember those are $100 bills.
So the next time you hear someone toss around the phrase "trillion dollars"... that's what they're talking about.
