A Republican Freed The Slaves
I / X / MMX | pansgold

Posted on 01/10/2010 5:00:02 PM PST by pansgold

Senator Reed's racist remarks are not out of place in the democrat party.

Lincoln freed the slaves and was killed by a democrat and southern sympathizer.

The Klan was formed in Al Gore's state by a good ol' boy and democrat named Nathan Bedford Forrest who slaughtered a company of unarmed black Union troops attempting to surrender.

Reed is just one more racist in the democrat party.

There's NO WAY democrats will Let THOSE PEOPLE ever get the right to vote! We'll filibuster the CIVIL RIGHTS ACT until Hell freezes over! - Al Gore Sr. (DEMOCRAT)

"The police aren't here to prevent disorder, they're here to preserve disorder." - Richard Daley Sr. (Democrat), Chicago Mayor

You take your officers and put them on horseback. I want every one carrying a nig*er knocker and when they come back they'd better be RED. I'll teach them not to protest in MY city. Ghetto's in the sky...really. - Chicago Mayor Dick Daley Sr. (DEMOCRAT)

I'm calling out the Arkansas National Guard to keep blacks out of WHITE schools. - Arkansas Governor Eugene Faubus (DEMOCRAT), 1957

Segregation NOW! Segregation FOREVER! - Alabama Governor George C. Wallace (DEMOCRAT)

Use dogs and fire hoses on them! - Birmingham Police Commissioner Eugene "Bull" Connor, (DEMOCRAT)

I am a racist and segregationist. - Duke University Professor and President, North Carolina Governor and Senator Terry Sanford, (DEMOCRAT)

I would get paid $10.00 for every new member I brought into the Klan. - Current Senator from West Virginia, Bobby Byrd - Klansman and (DEMOCRAT)

I don't give a damn about the constitution, general you use census records and find every JAP and put them behind barbed wire in the desert. Sell their homes, businesses and property and give the money to the treasury. - Franklin D. Roosevelt (DEMOCRAT)

Remember, EVERY JIM CROW LAW ever passed in the United states was passed by the democrats. Education taxes, poll taxes...all passed by democrats. I still remember the "WHITES ONLY" and "COLORED USE REAR DOOR" signs in every democrats store window.

Reed fits right in.

"THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1957. Republican Dirksen broke the Democrat filibuster of the 1957 Civil Rights Act."

And your point is?

The Democratic Party of old is probably more conservative than the current Republican Party.

Of course things have changed. They're both liberal and don't follow our constitution as it was meant be followed.

Man...folks here are so ignorant at times...the hell’s fury of loss of freedom the Civil Rights act enabled and the damage it did to the black community is no cause for celebration.

Nice post.

Oh puleeze.

Tell me where I'm wrong. Abe was the first president to enforce a federal mandate upon the states with the use of force and unconstitutionally. He forgot, as have most Americans have up until this day, that the federal government is an agent of the states; the states are not agents of the federal government. Federal usurpation began with Lincoln and continues to this day.

Abe was the first president to enforce a federal mandate upon the states with the use of force and unconstitutionally.

On the contrary, Article I, Section 8 gives the government the power to use force to suppress insurrections.

He forgot, as have most Americans have up until this day, that the federal government is an agent of the states; the states are not agents of the federal government.

What he didn't forget is that even the states are bound by the Constitution.

Federal usurpation began with Lincoln and continues to this day.

Oh barf.

The Constitution was an agreement between the states and the powers of which the states collectively would enforce. Abe Lincoln and a few states violated that agreement, so Article 1, Section 8 called for the states to band together and suppress their breach of the contract known as the Constitution. We are witnessing over the last two decades a resurgence of that patriotic spirit with over 35 states now having resolutions reasserting their rights under the 10'th Amendment. The southern states rose up Constitutionally due to the breach of the contract by the northern states and Abe although their stance for the rights of the states ultimately - and unfortunately - failed.

With that said, no matter how well intentioned all that is mentioned in this article was, it was a usurpation of states' rights. It's no different with Obamacare and the Defense of Marriage Act: it's well intentioned, but unconstitutional and should be left to the states.
