John Spratt is not just a foot soldier in Pelosi's Army, as Chairman of the House Budget Committee, he's a General. Everything that has come our way since Pelosi became the Speaker has been run through him.

Health Care Reform, TARP, Cap and Trade, and the Stimulus package all received his approval.

And what are the benefits to the State and his district as a result of his leadership?

"SC jobless rate hits record 12.6 percent in Dec." - The Herald (1/22/2010)

All of the counties in his district except two have unemployment rates above the State average. Four of these counties are in the top ten for unemployment. Chester county's unemployment rate is 22.%, third worst in the State. (S.C. Employment Security Commission - 1/22/2010)

Forget the Bacon, Mr. Spratt, bring home some jobs.

The article is an example of how much Scott Brown's election is affecting races which are "down ballot". Spratt is a member of the Dem. leadership who has been in Washington for 28 yrs. and who currently chairs the House Budget Committee. His State & district are suffering record unemployment, but for years Spratt has been flying under the radar, convincing his constituants that he is a "conservative" Dem. Here's how engaged Conservatives can expose "Blue Dogs" for what they are simply by writing comments to their local papers.

There is no way Democrats will bring home the jobs. Blue dog, yellow dog whatever.

SC only saving grace lately is the BMW plant that Democrats and the UAW would LOVE to unionize. The people of SC need to vote Democrats out including that sissy Lindsay Graham.

Brown is already saying that he wants universal healthcare, just not this version of it. We’ve got more work to do.

Lots of people in “blue dog” districts, though they are conservative, continue to vote for their Dem Reps for one reason or another. These blue dogs tell them what they want to hear, and then go back to DC and vote differently. The local media keep up the fiction that these guys are more conservative than they really are, talking in terms like “reaching across the aisle”. Pushing back by responding to puff piece articles in the paper is one way to expose these guys for the partisans that they really are.

I don't live in South Carolina but recently I did see a TV program about the auto plant there. I think it was on the Science Channel. It has lots of robots doing the work whenever possible. Of course many people work there to. If the corrupt UAW manages to unionize that place I'll bet BMW will shut the plant down and move. There should be stricter laws controlling what unions can and can't do.
