Nonsense. The GOP is doing... NOTHING. Zilch. Nada, Zippo. And the leadership daily waffles about doing that.
Tell me, other than playing the parlor game in Congress badly, what has the GOP done? NOthing. There’s an army of millions of Americans who want to fix things and who would provide the muscle to make it happen. And what does the GOP do? play footsie some more.
Very good point. This is why I lost all respect for Michael Smerconish when he loudly left the Republican Party and appears on GEMSLSD whining about it.
While he is a RINO (and RINOs disgust me), what offends me more is his attitude of "Cater to me! It's all about me!"
A lot of people who feel like I do (further to the right than the Stupid Party) sound to me no different than Smerconish.
I will work to replace the Stupid Party or reform it to something honorable.
Faith. Hope. Charity.
>”all you loser independents do is bitch about why REPUBLICANS won’t do anything!”
Agreed. Anybody who is LEFT of 100% Conservative, is a LIBERAL, bottom line.
Because in order to solve our fiscal problems you must decide whether to put grandma on the ice flow and abandon her and her hip. Every Republican politician knows that entitlements are swallowing us whole and they must be trimmed. Equally, every Republican politician knows that to even nod in that direction is to commit political suicide, witness what happened to George Bush when his attempts to reform Social Security were a aborted.
Were the tea party patriots, of whom I count myself one, out there flooding the streets of America begging the government to cut their Medicare, cut their cost Social Security, and balance the budget? Hell no. But they are out there now, however, many of them are out there protesting potential cuts in their Medicare. What is a poor Republican politician to do?
The reason this democratic republic has got itself into this fix is because it is in the nature of man to behave this way, to beg to be pandered to, to evade reality and responsibility, project blame, to kill the messenger.
You want Republican politicians to have fallen on their swords on your behalf but where were you?
Please understand I do not mean to make this personal. We are all at fault. But since your indignation has risen to the top, and you had the courage to stick your head above the intellectual bunker, you get shot at.
I've wondered that about Mitt for years.
Look what the Bush/Hasteret/Lott lock accomplished. Higher spending, more entitlements, higher debts, no fense.
Yeah, give me more of that.
( first kill off the RINO’s. Talking conservative isn’t enough. McCain, Christ out! )
The republicans are doing MORE than you do! Look, it's not that I don't agree republicans are nambies right now, but there's a chance of us trying to light a fire under their sorry asses than start anew any other way where there is NO chance for the conservative agenda! Why don't you people understand political reality? We basically have a two party system mixed up to the extremes on both sides. It doesn't get really any better than this.
Put your resources and efforts into making sure republicans go down the conservative path, instead of spinning your wheels bitching about what they've done in the past!
Let me see if I understand this correctly. You are no longer a republican because republicans don’t have the kind of backbone that Chris Christi has......who is a ....republican.
OK....you lost me right here. Overall, a fine piece, I must say.....yet you openly admit to being one who doesn't want to be confrontational.
So, you want someone else to do it for you? You feel that the mess we find ourselves in will be rectified without confrontation?
This isn't just about the RNC or Tea Partiers or any other group. This is all about US; those of us who consider ourselves American citizens. WE have to stand up and be heard; WE have to confront power grabs and idiocy and political correctness and destruction of our society wherever we encounter it: the local school, the local school board, your town or city council, your State legislature, etc., etc.
Let me suggest that it isn't just the RNC that needs to "grow a set".
Ping
McGavin,
you’re a quick study.
I rang 500 door bells this week, with 150 “at home” responses from the good folks. It takes about 8 seconds for each one to tell me their story and that is about all that I give most of them.
Granted, it would be a different experience if every one of them gave me an editorial like “The Watcher”. When the weather changes to 95 degrees and humid, the responses will stop, so I am taking advantage of the opportunity while it lasts.
Thanks, the only way we are going to win this thing is from within.
Some think politics is Walmart. They can stroll in and select what they want pre-made. GOP reflects the majority of those active in the party. They are starting to fill now but precinct slots across the nation have been 30% to 70% unfilled for years. I do a webpage for my RTC. Its a small town but still, there are only a dozen or so Republicans who are really active. When I talk to Republican voters, I hear the same complaint over and over: town hall politics don't reflect their views, they don't like what is going on, its a bunch of insiders. What it is is frustrating and often boring. That is why they don't participate but sit on the sidelines and complain.
LLS
Rush nailed it when he explained there are three types of Republican: Rockerfeller, the religious conserative and conservative. Add in the overwhelmingly negative media bias and it’s a miracle there are any Chris Christie’s in office anywhere.
Why I don't care.
I think we were told on this site that “Chris Christie is a RINO” during the general election last fall.
LOL. SOHR. SensahumaRe-kwired.
Well said , and I agree totally .
He ran against Steve Lonegan who was THE conservative in the primary. Christie did name a Democrat as State Attorney General and is for gun control to some degree. He ain’t perfect, but who is?
Preach on Brother! Preach on!
