Palin helping RNC raise money
CNN's Political Ticker ^ | August 6, 2010 | Peter Hamby, CNN Political Producer

Posted on 08/06/2010 3:14:27 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

In a surprising move given her reputation as a political outsider, Sarah Palin is helping the Republican National Committee raise money ahead of November's elections.

Palin has attached her name to a letter and survey being mailed to RNC donors soliciting contributions for the committee's Victory 2010 program, a nationwide get-out-the-vote effort.

"Millions of Americans are expressing their frustration with the state of our government. I join them and seek to return our country to greatness," reads the letter, obtained by CNN Friday.

"To accomplish this, working within our two party system, I join the RNC - the political home for "Commonsense Conservatives" who want to re-take governance - and I ask you to join me," the former Republican vice presidential nominee's letter continues. "Let's bring our new brand of Reagan conservatism to our party and the country!"

Having the Palin stamp of approval may help the RNC recover some of its standing among conservatives who have been troubled by chairman Michael Steele's handling of the committee. And her unquestioned star power is certain to help the RNC in its ambitious quest to raise a total of $107 million in 2010.

But her helping hand could be seen as an effort to mend fences with party insiders as she ponders a possible presidential bid in 2012.

Aw, your poor panties are in a twist AND you have no patience. Too damn bad. You’re gonna wait, period.

LOL!!

counterpunch, rintense is a feisty broad, (that's a compliment, rt). You might try a different tactic, rather than whinging like a teen aged girl and crying to the mods.

Anyone who considers themselves a conservative but who is pondering sending their hard-earned dollars to the RNC would be better off if they piled the money up and burned it. At least then it can’t be used against them and for liberals.

Deals are undoubtedly being made behind the scenes, and despite much wishful thinking by the purists around here, if Sarah Palin is going to be a successful GOP candidate in 2012, then she’s going to have to work with the RNC, like it or not.

Why did you post this? Now all of the haters will come out and say: “See. we told you so...she is an establishment type” Blah, blah, blah
________________________________________________________________________

Even more scary are folks like you that cannot deal with any criticism of this lady whatsoever!

So if anybody comes out and is critical of Palin’s support of the RINO lover RNC; they’re “haters?”

What makes our side’s blind support for this lady, or any other person in our party, different from the blind support that Obama receives?

I like her...alot, but I’m not going to lose my objectivity just because it’s Palin. The cult of personality is a dangerous thing.

Sunday, June 6, 2010 REVIEW: 'Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One'

~snip~

It is unsurprising that, currently, Gov. Palin is the political horse that Limbaugh backs for 2012, but 2012 is a long way off. For Palinistas, the statements and observations about Gov. Palin come in the book’s final pages. Limbaugh is quoted as saying Gov. Palin is “the most prominent, articulate voice for standard, run-of-the-mill, good old-fashioned conservatism.”

Please...I was being sarcastic....She is no more a RINO by soliciting funds for the Party right before the election than any person you name who can be President since they all must come through the Republican Party and the nomination process...Sheesh!

It’s your types that roam FR just to snip at her and do so more than going after Obama...take a nap!

Let the RNC raise their own money. If they would have stood on principle, fought Obama at every turn, and called out RINOs like Snowe and Collins, they would be swimming in Benjamins right now.

Sarah owes no allegiance to the RNC and if she runs, they would basically have to placate to her anyway or else lose grassroots support. The RNC is a pathetic joke and I don't care if Sarah's name is on this letter when I get it in the mail. It's going right in the shredder.

Your response is more telling than anything I could say.

It is plain scary to watch some of you folks come out and attack people who raise ligitimate questions about this woman.

Sorry, but this concern that some of us have about her supporting the RNC (which is helping to destroy the conservative movement within the GOP) is a legitimate issue.

Again, your response is more telling than anything I or others have said.

Rush doesn't do endorsements, but here is what he has said:

‘Palin Ready to be President’

He also displayed this graphic prominently on his website for a very long time:

The money that Governor Palin raises for the RNC will disproportionately go to RINOs and incumbents rather than up-and-coming challengers.

Palin's journey is historic. Her arrival spells the beginning of the end of political parties and the apparatus that feeds off of them. Nobody owns Sarah, no special-interest group, no nothing. She is truly a candidate of the people.

Therefore, the RNC is an anachronism. They are nothing more than a middle-man between the people and the candidates. One can donate directly to the candidate of their choice. Why then, should I give to the RNC who would use my money to keep entrenched liberal Republicans in power rather than advancing my cause? So by helping the RNC fund raise, she is prolonging the very status-quo that she prides herself on fighting against.

I found precisely what I had quoted. Sarah's his choice for 2012.

This, after being told"

"You folks can’t prove anything. You just ignore things as if they will go away.

You seem to waste a lot of time down on your kneepads.

Down on my kneepads? Another woman says that too me! I called her a harpie witch.

Or rintense could just retract the slanderous lies. If she is going to level such accusations, she shouldn’t have to pour over the archives in hopes of finding something that backs up her reckless and unfounded claims. The fact that she is now fruitlessly searching for anything to back up her claims is a pretty good indicaction of just how baseless they were.

I alerted the admin mod because such slander against fellow FReepers is against forum rules.

He adores her, but her detractors hate to hear about it, so some deny it.
