Matthews is essentially saying private citizens are too stupid to understand the complexities of the modern world. Big Liberal Government will tell you what to think and make your deccisions for you. Thanks a lot Chris. (smirk)
I didn’t know Chris Matthews was a Republican? Has that thrill up his leg turned into a cramp?
They may all be fair questions. Allow me to suggest that Chris Matthews is not necessarily the sharpest individual to be pondering them.
Maybe you should go back into her record in AK and detail for us all of the bad decisions she made. I doubt you will find many because we would have heard all about them by now if they existed. Maybe you could get some AK pols to describe the process she used to arrive at a decision. Let’s hear from both sides of the aisle. Let’s settle the 3am phone call question, Chris. We want you to feel safe when you go to bed at night knowing that matters are well in hand. How are you feeling about that 3am question right now, Chris?
ONLY such a person can deal with those questions. Reagan did. Maggie Thatcher did. Chrissy saw all that happen, and he's scared as hell it could happen again.
The answers, especially to the supposedly "complex" economic issues (foreign policy Obama has eff'd up so much it will be trickier to fix) are are simple: As simple as the observation that it is saving, investment and production (unburdening the "supply side") and not artificially gubermint stimulated spending and consumption (the cart-before-the-horse pushing on "aggregate demand") which creates wealth and prosperity.
Hissy Crapspews is terrified at the prospect of a Republican presidential candidate capable of drawing such distinctions in a manner ordinary people can easily understand. This could attract large numbers of working class Democrats to the Republican banner. Again, Hissy saw Reagan do just that, and so knows all too well it is possible, and that the climate is even riper for it than in the wake of Jimmy Peanut's failed Presidency.
