We have these same type of scanners at our precinct in Holmen WI and I am always uncomfortable with them as there is no proof that the machine is recording my vote as I have entered it on the paper - it is all in the programming of the unit - I don’t like them.

They took a short cut on these scanners. There is absolutely no reason that you can't get a receipt showing how you voted except they don't want you to have a receipt.

There is no one who can say that these are hack proof or can't be manipulated.

But I still think the big cheat is in the absentee and/or early balloting where there is time to remove votes and/or destroy votes
