One person and only one person is responsible for the overall management of a campaign and that is the candidate. Who they hire and place in charge of various functions within the campaign will be a major determinate in how successful the candidate is. Win or lose the buck stops at the top.

BULLSEYE

First off: wasn't appropriate for Rove to pile on to COD, regardless - if you are a GOP Operative, you support the winning GOP candidate. Failure to do so helps bring on losses. Secondly: It's frickin' Delaware - a state so full of jackmunches that they actually kept sending back Plugs Biden cycle after cycle. When Mike Castle is the reddest you can get, then it just wasn't going to happen - even if Rubio had run there. Some noteworthy gains were made in the NE, but some areas (Massholes, New York, Conn, DE) are just hopelessly lost. COD had significant skeletons in the closet, and in a very Blue state - they were too much to overcome. As to California: what can one say? I guess the majority of people there are praying for the San Andreas fault to finally give way and force the Feds to dump more money into that Socialist Paradise. Truly sad, as it is a beautiful state. Their exports have also ruined several Western states (NV, CO, OR, WA). The election of Brown may be what starts secessions especially if the haves (TX, FL, GA, Carolinas, etc) have to be taxed to prop up California's excesses.

Overall, a good night though even though the country's divisions are even more stark. We're heading for a showdown.
