I truly believe NEW START is benign PR stunt.
Passing it is not the end of the world IF Obama is NOT the POTUS and we actually have a POTUS that aggressively pursues missile defense.
As long as Obama is the POTUS, we won’t be seriously pursuing missle defense, and therefore New START is not a real hurdle.
Sure, conservatives can extract further concessions on nuclear matters from Obama in return for ratifying this ridiculous treaty. And, they should!
Having said that, the treaty MUST only be considered by the next Congress and NOT the lame duck one. For that reason, I am adamantly opposed to ratifying it in this Congress.
I like Juddd. But, if he is principled, he should vote the same way the seator elect from NH would in the new Congress. Or, defer to the new Congress.

American’s don’t sign treaties that place us at a disadvantage!
1) START leaves Russia with a significant Nuclear advantage in terms of Warheads and missiles.
2) START makes verification of Russian compliance virtually impossible.
3) START allows Russia to veto ANY and ALL missile defense systems America might ever want to deploy.
These are Obama’s objectives, NOT America’s objectives, and the Senate is right to defeat them!
