Palin’s good fortune in the private sector was not her motive for stepping down.

Gov. Palin wrote a biography. She didn’t force anyone to buy it. She signed with a speaker’s bureau and gave speeches and didn’t force anyone to attend. She made a TV series and didn’t force anyone to watch it. In fact, she didn’t know if any of those ventures would be successful. Now, if she had gone out and done product endorsements, then criticism of her actions might have had some merit.

Palin set the stage for what is to come...
...God Bless her

Depending on what happens in the next year of legislation..Rand Paul and Bachmann are the remedy for America. Strong medicine for a very fragile country. Long live the TEA Party, long live the Republic and may all the people of the world one day live in Peace and Freedom.

I don’t think she resigned her position for personal gain, but it would be naive to think she didn’t anticipate a financial soft landing based on the enormous popularity she’d developed. It wasn’t a huge roll of the dice to think that the thousands who’d already attended her speeches wouldn’t continue to do so, and that those same thousands (and more...I was one) would buy her book. Perhaps she would have made exactly the same decision if her only alternative was to go back to fishing or stay home while Todd worked in the oil fields - we’ll never know - but as a mother and the primary breadwinner for her family, there’s no way she didn’t factor their well-being (and her future earning potential) into her decision. Why shouldn’t she?

I would only agree that Paul and Bachman are both good fits for their current positions. We need strong and reliable leaders in congress just as much as we need those same qualities in our President. Neither Paul or Bachman can realistically be expected to have the resources to mount a presidential run. The fact that Sarah has set the stage means that she is capable of occupying that stage as well. Sarah Palin is a known quantity in the areas that conservatives are concerned with. She is electable because she is intelligent, politically conservative, healthy, energetic, experienced in government and private enterprise, and so much more. We already know what to expect from the establishment Republicans and their political gaming which helped to elect Obama and we are done with it. This party needs fresh talent and leaders who are committed to returning this country to our legally binding constitutional government. Hard work ahead for all of us but as of this moment, Sarah Palin is the only person I see who is up to speed on what the citizens of this country need and want from our government.
