A Romney we can respect (So it begins)
The Boston Globe ^ | May 18, 2011 | Brian McGrory

Old friend Mitt Romney understands that if the occasion should ever arise, he’s not actually allowed to use a PowerPoint presentation during a presidential inaugural address — right? Mitt, right?

After his performance in Michigan last week, you’ve got to wonder what form his marriage proposal took to Ann. “Listen, Sweetie, as you can see from the bar chart on this next slide, the genetic risk of me ever losing my hair is incalculably low.’’

Romney’s use of a projector and overhead screen at least week’s health care speech — billed as the most important event of his young campaign — was not the biggest surprise. That’s becoming par for an increasingly unorthodox course. It wasn’t even the fact that he kept referring to Massachusetts as “my state’’ after belittling us for years. Mitt, all is forgiven; welcome home, friend.

No, the biggest shock by far was the content of his speech. Mitt Romney actually planted a flag in the middle of a controversial issue and defended it. He stood up for something he had already done. It might have been the most un-Mitt of moments since he apparently sold off his entire collection of silk neckties.

In terms of background, Romney has been under fire for his role in the passage of the state’s 2006 health care overhaul, the landmark law that has dramatically reduced the number of uninsured people in Massachusetts, stayed within cost projections, led to a steep drop in so-called free care, and is widely popular here. Besides that, it’s been a disaster.

Every conservative across this grand nation has demanded an apology from Romney for the utter lunacy of successful health care reform. The poor fops at the Wall Street Journal editorial page breathlessly dubbed him “Obama’s Running Mate.’’(continued)

I think we already knew that the Beltway RINOs, Country Clubbers, Bushies and other assorted squishes want him to run. He's the only one who can't use ObamaCare as a weapon in 2012 (with the possible exception of a senile former speaker) so it pretty much assures 4 more years for Mr. Obama and a Jeb Bush run in 2016. A blind man could see it.

If Romney turns out to be the candidate, I will hold my nose and vote for him.

Anybody but Obama.

But I would much rather see Herman Cain or Michele Bachmann win and at the top of the ticket.

Not me!

A Romney Presidency would do the same thing to the National GOP as a Romney Governership did to the MA GOP, KILL IT!

You don't run to the middle and away from conservative principles like Myth does all the time, and get anything done concerning issues that are near and dear to conservatives.

If Romney gets the nomination, I do my best to make sure he is defeated.

I spend my time and all available money on a third party candidate that actually supports my positions on the issues.

Obama = Romney. Not a single difference.

If Romney is the nominee I will vote third party.

You know what? As destructive as this Obama Administration is, I can't but help giving partial blame for his election to the Milk Toast, Establishment Republican Party.

I've been through too many of these “vote for our guy because he's not as bad as the other guy” elections.

If Romney gets the nomination, I will actively support a Conservative Third Party candidate. My reason? Romney is another of those “I'll cross the isle” types, which means, he does subscribe to many aspects of Liberalism. Romney, Daniels, Pawlenty and Gingrich are Republicans in the image of a Bob Dole or John McCain. They are also all week candidates and will get the same result as ‘08. If that's the type of candidate the Republican Party wants, realizing Sen Dole does have health issues, why not just nominate John McCain again???

You know the old saying, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me”? Well, I would modify that (for me) to “Fool me five times, shame on me”. Sorry, but not this Conservative. I'll work for another Party to supplant the Republican Party in the long term, working for an optimistic future for my children.

Actually Mitty didnt propose to 15 yo Ann

Daddy did that for him

George did everything for lil Mitty

Picked her out as a future suitable wife for the son he was frooming to be POTUS

and took the Methodist girl into his own home in order to finish bringing her up and to teach her how ro be a good mormon wife...

Oh yes Mitty has never had to make any big decisions on his own...

And even the little decisions he has made stunk...

Putting the dog on the roof of the car ???

and then wondering why it pooped in fright ???

Bright idea Mitt...

the landmark law that has dramatically reduced the number of uninsured people in Massachusetts, stayed within cost projections, led to a steep drop in so-called free care,

Not a single one of these claims is true, so why would we believe anything the writer has to say, or even keep reading beyond this point?

Most of the uninsured who have not been picked up by Medicaid or taxpayer subsidies are still uninsured. The cost estimates are low by between 10 and 25%, and as for "free care," [read: expensive for those who actually pay, like most thievery] that has been merely shifted from people whose bills were once paid by other hospital patrons to taxpayers -- in other words, only the collection agency for "free care" is different, the people actually paying are the same people as before.

I won't vote for Romney and I might not vote for Jeb.

I don't need to hear anything else Romney has to say, it's a done deal for me.

The Romney I can respect is the one who admits he is in no way conservative and promises to never appear on my TV screen again.

That's about the only way Jeb can make it............Good food for thought on what may be really going on.

My, my, my....

Isn’t THIS a surprise!!!

So nice of the Libsucks to tell us who we should nominate.

Of course, Mitt may be a nice guy NOW, but if (God Forbid, PLEASE!!!) he were to get the nomination, the MSM would turn on him and rip him to pieces faster than Michael Moore could take out a slice of Pepperoni pizza.

I will never forget when he first started running for President and they showed a picture of his wife with her horse. I myself have done dressage, jumping; etc; but that’s not the point. The point is he and his wife do not understand America. It was like a smack in the face to Americans. Like they were saying we are your betters and don’t you forget it; even though I think they were probably thinking we are showing them what class is. Strange as it may sound; I have never liked him after that. I didn’t know who he was and didn’t know he was as rich as he is; but it was such a show of rudeness; I could never vote for him. I will say it was a nice picture but spoke volumes as to the disconnect the elitists have. They just don’t think they are human beings.

If the Boston Globe (New York Times) and Soros
want Romney, then if the GOP takes him, we
will not vote for him, but work against him AND the GOP.
