Morris supposes that the attention Sarah Palin generates would go to someone else if she would only lock herself in a room without Internet or a phone connection. This is, to be gentle, idiotic. Palin can't transfer her celebrity status to anyone else. If she disappeared it wouldn't help any other Republican command the stage. The ADHD media would just move on to something else. Lady Gaga might benefit; Tim Pawlenty certainly wouldn't.

The raw political fact is that Palin has star power nobody else in the GOP can come close to matching and that this is a powerful, if not unbeatable, asset in a nomination fight. Her bus tour is making that obvious, and Dick Morris doesn't like it. What else is new?
