Is Dick Morris Changing His Mind About Herman Cain?

I heard some of an interview with Dick Morris yesterday. He said Herman Cain was now in the 1st tier of GOP candidates (which he defined as currently being Romney, Bachmann, and Cain). Everyone else (including Pawlenty, Santorum, & Newt) are in the 2nd or 3rd tier.

Morris also had this to say on O'Reily about the GOP field:

“...the best credentialed candidate of any of them is Cain.”

Morris in the past has totally discounted Cain. Now he has Cain as one of the leading GOP candidates, and not just in vote getting ability, but in experience.

Whether you like Dick Morris or not isn't the point here. The point is that he is an inside-the-beltway pundit, and he has done a 180 on Herman Cain.

Cain was already taken seriously as a candidate by Tea Partiers, now he's making inroads into the GOP and Washington establishmen. This is a good sign for Herman Cain's chances.

There was another interesting quote in The Economist recently:

[Herman Cain] The poor black boy born in Memphis 65 years ago made good and built what his campaign calls a “multidimensional” life that has included being, literally, a rocket scientist for the navy, turning around the Godfather pizza chain, hosting his own radio talk show and running the National Restaurant Association.

The message about Herman Cain's full background is getting out even the MSM. We're quickly approaching the moment when Herman Cain can no longer be discounted as the pizza guy.

Herman is still "the pizza guy", but we've had quite a few Presidents in recent years who knew only how to eat them ~ not how to get them made, and in factory order quantities!

So, Dick is seeing what I'm seeing ~ for the first time in American history somebody who knows how stuff gets made and how it gets delivered is running for President as a serious candidate.

I doubt we know how to deal with that as spoiled as we are voting for lawyers and wheeler-dealers.

If Dick Morris thinks Cain is “in the 1st tier”, this is NOT a good sign for Herman Cain’s chances. If there’s one thing Dick Morris has been consistently wrong about, it’s which candidates will do best. Last time around he predicted a Hillary vs. Condi matchup as inevitable.

Herman Cain is a good guy. What you see is what you get. Its just too bad he didn’t defeat RINO Johnny Isakson in 2004. I was proud to vote for him then and I would be proud to vote for him or Michelle Bachmann.

Morris usually has the pulse on what is going on politically. I wouldn’t know why he wouldn’t be moving Cain to a top tier candidate. This is a very fluid race so far. I am sure it will be moving around a bit. If Perry gets in it would shuffle things around again.

Ron Paul supporters seem to be threatened by him as shown by the amount of Freepmail from banned accounts against Cain.

Given Dicky’s track record, he should wait for the first big shakeout of the GOP plethora of candidates -— then start his pontificating about who and what.

He needs to sharpen up his hit record a bit.

I don't know, I think the American people - at least conservatives are longing for someone who will tell it like it is, shoot straight from the hip with no fancy “pseudo intellectual” words - someone who won't sugar coat the pill you are going to have to take - someone who loves our country and knows we can be better - someone who has rolled up his sleeves, learned his business, and was successful. We are SICK of Louie the XIV characters, pompous @sses strutting around the halls of our government pontificating, spending our tax money as if it were theirs, out of touch with reality, mind boggling egotistical, over educated, no common sense people. Cain is a breath of fresh air and he brings real hope and change to the table. In other words, I like him!!!!

i don’t believe Cain has a chance.
but it would be so refreshing, to elect a president who does NOT have a law degree,
and instead has one in Computer Science, AND one in Math!
