Perry’s stimulus worked!
What’s their deficit?
How much of this was federally mandated spending, however?
You forgot to call him a RINO. LOL!
Yawn.
How did he “stimulate” Oil to go from 30$ a barrel to 100-150?
There were a lot of “shovel ready jobs” in the money spent.
I think TX has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country.
Given what I have seen going on in other states, Perry’s fiscal record looks awfully good to me.
WGAS!
Careful. You’re gonna upset the Captain Gardasil groupies.
How does that increase compare to the increase in spending in California under Reagan?
Is it more, less, or a lot less?
In case you have not been paying attention, Oil is 2-5X per barrel what it was in 2000.
So YOU have been paying the increase to keep Texas budget in balance. More oil $$$ equal more Austin can spend.
Do you want a government that spends all it gets? You can’t run the U.S. this way even though Texas is a net exporter, the U.S. is a big net importer.
You can build paper airplanes that fly, but it does not scale up to a 727.
This lack of basic economic knowledge is what is killing our country.
You can’t spend your way into success.
What happens when/if oil crashes to 20$ Either Massive cuts must be made or budget deficits. Of course by that time, Silck Rick will be LONG GONE from Texas.
Here is an article with Texas spending adjusted for population growth and inflation: http://blogs.star-telegram.com/politex/2011/07/texas-spending-under-bush-and-perry-in-one-graph.html
Tells a different story.
Is it just me, or does everything cost twice as much as it did in 2000?
Sarah Palin, governor of a state of 700,000 taxed oil companies to pay the citizens cash. She said it was constitutionally mandated (Alaska's resources belong to Alaskans) yet didn't tax the fishing of logging industry. Alaska receives 1.80 in Federal funds for every dollar it sends in. Texas receives .94 for every dollar it sends in. Neither state has an income tax but Alaska doesn't even have a sales tax. Tell me how her governing style translates to D.C.? If she were to become President she would use the Texas model, not the Alaska model.
Hmm how odd your “Source” is a report dated 1999. Got any additional links to more recent documents to back up your claims?
He will be the next President of the United States.
