Now they are trying to talk Huckabee into running again. Who next? Mitch D? Bobby J? Haley B? John McC? Jeb B? Tim P?

Anybody but Sarah P.

I saw Erickson’s absurd posts. What an f-n fat tool.

He lost all credibility (whatever was left) with these childish posts.

I am getting tired of the silliness. At least Christie has been about as plain as he can be that he isn’t running. Sarah won’t say, and it is starting to irritate me.

This tweet helps explain it:

That hasn’t stopped the speculating (this thread for instance) plus the rumor is he may still get in next week.

You can be sure that once Sarah decides, either way, there will be no cause to think she’ll change her mind.

Why be irritated? If she declares, she declares.

Because of those question marks, conservatives haven't been able to invest fully in the candidates who are running. They haven't been able to imagine one of them as president.

(snip)

How sincere will it look, after all, in two months when the field is set and both are absent from it, and conservatives suddenly try to pretend that they are satisfied and enthusiastic about Rick Perry, Mitt Romney or Michele Bachmann?

Cupp unintentionally makes good points here. If the current field was truly strong, would we have to imagine one of them as President? Why would we have to pretend to be enthusiastic about one of them?

It seems that many (including myself) are genuinely dissatisfied with our choices (thus far). Combined with the mantras from other campaigns and the media ("it's too late" or "the latest CNN poll says 179% of voters don't want Palin to run"), it's easy to feel irritated. Just remember that the first elections are 4 months away and should Palin decide against running, there is more than ample time to make a decision on who to settle on, regardless of what the media says.

If it comes down to Perry v Romney, Romney will win. It all reminds me of 2008, when denial was not just a river in Egypt. No one could believe that the field was all we had to choose from.

People thought someone would show up and give us a better option. Fred Thompson turned out to be a dud, the field turned out to be the field, and we ended up with McCain.

This time around, some folks hope Christie will get in. Others hope Palin will get in. I suspect what you see is what you get, and it will end up being Romney.

This is great news for the DEMs. The GOP is in utter disarray, and is not prepared to capitalize on this great opportunity.

It's true. Rush Limbaugh can deny it all he wants, but we have a pathetically weak field, AS WE DID LAST TIME. The GOP is a disgrace. The DEMs are only in business because the GOP is so pathetically unprepared to capitalize.

Meanwhile, if FR is any guide (It might not be), everyone is a RINO--no one is worthy. That's how we ended up with McCain last time, and it's how we'll end up with Romney this time.

If the Tea Party wants a credible presidential candidate, they should get someone to run for governor, serve, establish a record of achievement, THEN run for president. If it comes down to Romney vs Cain in the primaries, I fully expect Romney to prevail, while I sit out the primaries.

Wow, how original /s

I think Christie will stick to his same answer: NO.

And it's just as well. We like him here in NJ. Let the Tea Party nominate Michelle Bachmann, or whoever their latest hero is, and see how that turns out. 9-9-9? Nat'l sales tax AND an income tax anyone? Great idea!

By the way, Lazlo, who are you supporting?

lol. I support my hometown hero staying home in NJ! I have been PRAYING that my 49 year old governor can withstand the intense pressure and flattery and stay here.

Santorum, eh? That's fine. It's a dodge, supporting someone with no shot. Avoids making a real choice.

But that's fine. I'm in the same boat. When the primaries hit NJ this year, there is a good chance I won't bother. As of now, I'll vote in the general for whatever clown the GOP throws up, but I have no use for any of them.

I’ve been watching those all day too. Disreputable twisting of her words into a promise she never made. Eric has lost what little credibility he still had with me. It’s just dishonest, what he’s doing. Pure psych ops, and not effective with anyone over, say, 10 years old.

Santorum, eh? That's fine. It's a dodge, supporting someone with no shot.

First off, Christie isn't running so that isn't even on the menu. Secondly, Santorum has a shot still. Remember the Rat Primary 1992? Clinton was way at the back of the pack. A total joke running to get his name known. As the frontrunners chewed themselves up and the base voters lost interest in them, Slick snuck in and started winning Primaries. After debates, Rick gets a bump in the polls after people hear what he has to say. He is not out of this till he waives the white flag.

And the press has hammered that with the INTENT that you become annoyed. Think about it, what else have they EVER kept in the forefront for more than a couple news cycles?

First off, Christie isn't running so that isn't even on the menu.

Well that's true. The threat is out there, though, and you are the one who brought him up--not me.

Secondly, Santorum has a shot still. Remember the Rat Primary 1992? Clinton was way at the back of the pack. A total joke running to get his name known. As the frontrunners chewed themselves up and the base voters lost interest in them, Slick snuck in and started winning Primaries.

That's true. But Clinton, say what you will about him, had a special gift. I can still remember seeing him on C-Span, all those years ago, in a gymnasium in NH. I was in my 20s, a noob to politics and life in general. I was already a freedom loving anti-socialist, but I could see that Clinton had talent, and I judged at that moment he would be reckoned with. Santorum, whatever his charms, doesn't rise to that level. Sorry, he just doesn't have "it."

After debates, Rick gets a bump in the polls after people hear what he has to say. He is not out of this till he waives the white flag.

That's fine. Support him all you want. He's got no shot. Zero. You might as well be pissant pimping old what's his name--Duncan Hunter?
