I see lots of parallels here, if Mitt-Witt DOES become the GOP nominee, look for a weird and inverse re-creation of the 1960 ‘Rat ticket, aka the ‘Boston-Austin’ axis, with Mittens picking Rick Perry as his VP candidate.
The only difference?
That ticket will LOSE.
Kudos to the inconsistent George Will. Got it right this time.
And don’t forget Dukakis picked Bentsen from out of Texas as well.
Kennedy, Kerry, Dukakis, Romney, - the last Presidential material from Massachusetts was John Adams.
Saw Dukakis a few months ago on TV. I guess he is some kind of professor now. Figures. But what struck me as funny is how bitter the little bastard is, even all these years after having been drubbed. Like Kerry. But Kerry has his wife’s millions that she lifted from the Ketchup King and Republican, John Heinz.
One of the biggest talking points to take down Obama is “OBAMACARE”
How can we use Obamacare as a weapon in debates with Obama if Romney is the nominee? We lose the entire argument since Obama will just comeback and talk about how Romney was in favor of Government healthcare as well...
A bad lip reading soundbite of Romney.

The 1960 Rat ticket lost too. It’s just that Richard J. Daley “fixed” things.
Dukakis was soundly kicked to the curb after he lost, discarded like a dirty rag. I think he is regarded as a mistake (to have selected as a candidate) and is resentful of never having been elevated to some kind of tribal elder. He’s nothing like Jimmy Carter, who despite his exalted position of being one of the worst presidents ever and a towering goofball, is somehow regarded as a great man by many. Kerry still commands some respect. Don’t ask me why. But Dukakis ended up being like a piece of spoiled meat, you just want to wrap it up, dispose of it, and not see it nor smell it any more nor think about ever having owned it.
Georgie Will actually gets it right for a change. Like they say about stopped clocks.
Pray for America
YES! And we know what happened to Dukakis. I am not backing Romney because of (a) Romneycare, and (b) it seems obvious to me that he is not a “winner.” The American people don’t see Mittens as such and thus will not vote for him. Plus he will be sure to pull that same “gentlemanly” cr*p that did in McCain, and he’ll probably concede on election night as soon as humanly possible, just like McCain.
Gimme a fighter this time! And that ain’t Romney.
Too Funny. That could stick!
Will's point is that both Dukakis and Romney have presented themselves in this way: Vote for me because I'm the most competent for the job.
Perfect. Lets spread that around and get this meme going.
Someone get Mutt a tank.
Republicans got sold a bill of goods by the establishment when they were strapped with McCain, and then the people who did the selling jumped ship to go with Obama. The same people are selling Romney, and this time Republicans aren’t so eager to buy. Why go with an establishment politiomorph, when there is an honest, intelligent candidate like Cain?
