I'm not sure who is putting up these ads (they don't seem to be official), but they are great, short, to-the-point ads.

I’m confused. Is this why Cain fully supports TARP? and Bailouts? Or was he for it before he was against it?

Nice try. First, TARP and the stimulus bills are different in many ways. TARP was a loan and stimulus was a gift to the unions. Second, “fully support” is one of those black and white concepts for an issue that was not black and white. Cain and many other conservative economists supported a limited version of TARP and they did so with great misgivings.

And FTR, TARP bank loans have all been paid back with a sizeable profit to the tax payers. Bail outs to GM and Chrysler and to the unions have not and never will.

Do you ever post anything factual or is your desperation to find some excuse to attack Cain why you continually lie about him?

You really should be ashamed of your childish sleazy behavior here.

Cute, but you know that he only spoke out supporting one small part of TARP (well before it was implemented), he never fully supported TARP or Bailouts as you bear false witness of.

He has the same pattern with a lot of the Conservative candidates (or prospective candidates). I remember he went after Palin viciously including using the daughter Bristol in his attacks.

It's nice to see this thread got hi-jacked. /sarcasm For those that want to see the actual video (which deals with the stimulus, not TARP):

This is hardly “Great misgivings” from Cain; (Wikipedia)

Bank bailouts, and “too big to fail”;

Cain supported the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) bank bailouts as a way to revive the economy, viewing it as an investment opportunity for the taxpayers. In a 2008 editorial, Cain wrote, “Owning a part of the major banks in America is not a bad thing. We could make a profit while solving a problem.”[1]

In May 2011, regarding his TARP support, Cain said, “I don’t have any regrets . . . I studied the situation. I didn’t have trouble with the idea; I had trouble with its implementation, picking winners and losers.”[2]

In October 2011, Cain said he does not believe in the concept of “too big to fail” and has stated that he did not agree with the bailouts of “JP Morgan and the big banks on Wall Street”.[

For anyone interested, the Romney ad they produced is awesome. Points out again why Mitt Romney is not the answer.

How about the 2008 election? (Again, from Wikipedia)

2008 presidential election;

In 2008, Cain initially praised Democratic candidate Barack Obama, saying of Obama that “His gift is the gift of oratory. That’s not just the ability to speak, but the ability to connect with people.” He also said that he would consider supporting Obama “under the right circumstances” but only if he made a serious attempt to “reach across the aisle”. Eventually, Cain instead endorsed Mitt Romney in the Republican primary. [70]

One huge disconnect with many conservatives is their inability - or perhaps unwillingness - to distinguish between TARP and the stimulus plans. They are so so so different in every way.

TARP was a loan. Stim was a hand out. TARP has been repaid (the bank part) and stim has not and never will be. TARP had a lot of very reputable conservative economists and business people think it had to be done while there was and never will be any conservative support for stimulus.

Well, there’s “fully” and then there’s “fully.”
And then there’s full of it.

To: Brookhaven; All
I had a discussion with my neighbor a marketing major about Herman. Prior to my discussion with him, my class in marketing had me thinking about world class companies, they usually develop a corporate Tag-Line as part of their marketing/branding strategy.

Some in the past that you may remember:

* "Honda we make it simple"
* "Coke it's the real thing"
* "GM Mark of Excellence"
* "Ford, Quality is Job One" and for today's Ford; "Ford Drive One"
* "7Up, the Un-Cola"

Notice, they are all mostly single syllable words with a sentence of less than 6 words...

Kind of like: "9 9 9 means Jobs"

Am I the only one that sees this?

Herman has taken what forever has been an abstract concept i.e. either a Flat Tax or Fair Tax that takes a great deal of time to explain and is seeped in green eye shade CPA-Speak and has turned it into a one sentence sound byte that eventually people can get their arms around because it is simple.

IMHO Brilliant, Absolutely Freaking Brilliant !!!

We may have a political marketing / branding revolution going on with Herman, and no one sees it, as every thing he does ends in these small remember able phrases just like the latest commercial "Cain Can"....

Oh, don’t worry — as a past journalism/marketing major, I see it very clearly.

It is brilliant — but moreover, it’s about successfully communicating a message to the people. People ARE in a hurry, and they’re busy, and they are also really overworked right now (if they’re the ones still employed). They need something they can bite off quickly and digest easily.

But Cain is great at it ..he’s a Great Communicator ...(lol — hmmm, where have we heard that before?)

hmm Guilt by accusation now?

Newt Gingrich picked Liberal John McCain over Romney in 2008. Perry endorsed uber GOP liberal Rudy Giuliani.

So in a choice between Liberal and fake Conservative in 2008 Cain made the best of a bad deal and picked the fake Conservative while all the other candidates endorsed the GOP Establishment Liberal choice.

REALLY want to play this game? Your Establishment candidates will lose it.

McCain more liberal than Romney?

Did McCain support Romneycare?
Did McCain support $50 abortions?
Did McCain gun control?

Anyone who thinks McCain is more liberal than Romney is a political moron.
