A new survey from pollster Scott Rasmussen shows support for Newt Gingrich in Iowa has fallen sharply in recent days. The poll shows the former House speaker with the support of 20 percent of likely Republican caucus-goers -- down from 32 percent in the last Rasmussen survey released November 15.
Gingrich has now fallen into second place in the Iowa race, behind Mitt Romney, who is at 23 percent, up from 19 percent in the last Rasmussen survey.
The complete poll results are: Romney, 23 percent; Gingrich 20 percent; Ron Paul, 18 percent; Rick Perry 10 percent; Michele Bachmann, 9 percent; Rick Santorum, 6 percent; and Jon Huntsman, 5 percent. Ten percent of likely caucus-goers said they support some other candidate or are not sure how they will vote.
In the new survey, every candidate but Gingrich gained support in the last few weeks. The biggest gainers were Romney, up four points; Paul, up eight points; and Perry, up four points. Michele Bachmann climbed three points, as did Jon Huntsman, who has been to Iowa a grand total of one time in the campaign.
Gingrich, on the other hand, fell 12 points.
"This is the fifth consecutive monthly poll with a new leader," Rasmussen says in an email. "It was Bachmann in August, then Perry, Cain, and Gingrich. Amidst all the volatility, Romney's numbers have held steady each month, and Ron Paul has been in double digits each month."
Rasmussen warns that the race remains volatile, with only 40 percent of likely caucus-goers sure of how they will vote.

OBozo is at it again!
Newt will take Iowa by 10 percent.
Another note: It's not winner take all until April.
The POTUS is the bully pulpit. There is NO ONE better than NEWT in articulating the founder's intentions and the conservative philosophy. PERIOD.
My hope is that Newt helps the ignorant, brainwashed masses of asses understand the difference between tyranny and liberty.
If any other candidate gets the nod, the DEMS will have him bent over and lubbed up like Jorge Bush. See Mitt, Perry....etc. Pathetic Rino wannabe conservatives.
I don’t think Newt did anything wrong. He was teh flavor of teh month and his popularity faded.
I can’t predict the future (duh) but last night hearing all the latest I said I think Romney will be the nominee.
I’ve defended every conservative who led this pack (Gingrich, Cain, etc.) but if the voters ultimately decide Romney is most electable I can’t bitch about the process. Heck, half the voters are convinced Gingrich isn’t conservative enough.
Romney porks Coulter who screws Newt.
That's a definite possibility. Paul has a small base, but they'll crawl through broken glass for him.
There was a screwup at Fox News:
Fox News Uses an Obama Image to Identify Mitt Romney
Hey, it's a natural mistake....
Here’s the problem cotton: The Conservatives are so divided and have beaten, bloodied, bullied and broken each one of the Conservative candidates to the point that the only one who will be left standing will be the RINO, Mitt Romney. He will lose like McCain did, and we have no one to blame but ourselves. And, I must admit; all the vitriolic, mean-spirited, in-fighting here on FR has not helped our cause either. I’m just as guilty as everyone else. We have met the enemy and they are us.
that is what they showed on the news.
When all of the people that are rallying behind Gingrich in desperation after Cain and Palin failed them come to they’re senses Perry will be back up in the polls.I fear if this does not happen we will be stuck with Romney/Obama.All because Palinista’s took they’re disappointment out on Perry and Bachmann.Newt will continue to do speeches, lobby and write books and be just fine.So will Palin.Palin would be a good VP or energy secretary.I would pay good money to wake up one morning and hear Palin on TV as energy sec saying she is opening all that Obama closed(Canada pipeline) drill here drill now!
There is a video on Rasmussen’s site.
He says that Iowa is difficult to get an accurate read on because it is a caucus state and more than 40 percent of the voters say they can still change their minds.
Rasmussen is an establishment pollster. Definitely not on the side of the conservative GOP. Maybe the RINOs but not the true GOPers that actually support the GOP platform.
I saw numerous polls on Fox news yesterday that Gingrich fails at beating Obama.AND THEY ADDED ROMNEY CAN BEAT HIM (by a few if not one point!) WAKE UP PEOPLE in the name of everything that is good wake up!NO ROMNEY OBAMA PLEASE!
"Got Pink?"
Anyone notice anything strange about Romney’s picture?
Here’s the media template regarding Newt:
All attacks are valid and should be amplified into general issues casting doubt on his morality, consistency, and leadership.
Any response by Newt will be characterized as angry, thin-skinned Newt going negative.
The sad thing is that many in the conservative media and republican establishment are pushing this template.
MYTH/CRAZY 2012; If They’re the answer,it was stupid question
....its 2008, all over agaian.
