Could me help me out here? I guess I don’t understand.
It is entirely possible I don’t know all of the facts.
It seems that if I am eligible for some type of pension (one I have contributed to) and continue to work..is that wrong? And if I am able to draw SS in conjunction with a pension and salary..is that wrong? (maybe stupid from a tax stand point).

I’m talking about the optics of it. Do you think the average voter is going to research the ins-and-outs of the Texas Public Retirement System?
I am sure that is the purpose of the story. Still looks bad. And perception is reality and a lifetime politician should be smart enough to know that.
My opinion is that it is the states that are responsible for fixing their own retirement programs. Looks like Texas’s ERS is a pretty well managed retirement program, an example of how it should be.
What does Perry’s double dip have to do with land grant colleges?
Sigh...can’t argue with that.
What team did you say you supported from South Carolina?
I'm worn out with all the whining about appearances. So, officially, I don't give a rat's pointy little tail what it looks like.
Results matter. People will figure it out. Eventually.
I refuse to stress about it.

If he were not Governor would he still receive the retirement payment? If yes, then he’s not receiving 2 checks for the same job.
Thanks...so he contributed to an annuity instead of a pension?
If you don't know the difference between a pension and annuity, blame those responsible for your education.

Oh man.
Next we’ll hear he put in 1,000 hours of overtime in his last year.
Many government types just do this stuff naturally, they feel very entitled to get the “max” they can from their government jobs.
When is a pension not an annuity?
JFC!
I hope you washed your hands afterwards. I never voted for W and didn't own a televisor device during 'Dallas'. Still don't, actually.

Certainly Perry’s critics will use it to bash him in the same way that Newt’s critics are using the 1.6 million dollars he got from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
From the article this thread was based on.

It doesn’t matter what you think. You are not his target audiance. The undecided voter who looks at the evening news, goes to work and reads the Star-Ledger, or another MSM rag, while on break at work is his audiance. They are the ones he needs to convince, not me, he makes it through as the nominee, I will rush to the polls to vote for him.
Is that kind of like "Sarah Swooners?"
