If Rick S crashed to 10% in Iowa, instead of surging, and Perry had tied Romney, I’d want Santorum to quit. Aside from Fla, most of the early states are northern and northeastern. If conservative votes are split, the Kennedyesque slimeball will prevail. It’s clear why Perry was begged to stay in the race with $5M cool ones. Bob

I'm with you 1000% buddy----Perry is one cunning politician ---despite that "aw shucks" image he likes to project. He keeps his plans quiet---so its understandable that trusting Texans are oblivious to Perry's activities.

Some Texans were not even aware that Perry gave in-state tuition to illegals until his ill-fated debate.

His presidential conniving is still under wraps---but when he entered the race---he had to file FEC reports as per federal regs. Perry's been called the human price tag---every official action is for sale. One of Perry's campaign donors got his own Texas regulatory agency.

Here's a couple sources:

His strategy is simple: trash all the other lesser tiered candidates, have them drop out and pray their supporters turn to him.

FAIL.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, then, because I can't say the same. It's way too early to coalesce around one person, only to find out later that you picked the wrong one.

Will you be calling for Rick S to quit if he crashes in SC and either Newt or Perry ties Romney? What about FL?

Don't worry... romney won't be tying anyone once he gets down south. He'll be trailing the pack once he gets his puny little fake-a$$ down here where he doesn't belong.

there really needs to be only one of the following in after SC

Newt or Santorum...Perry can’t make up that much ground in South Carolina where Newt has huge lead

going past that with the fracturing only helps Mitt

paul is nothing

If Perry makes another surge, and Santorum crashes, yes. Newt is interesting, but almost as bad as Romney. He is a “Realpolitik Wilsonian”, which is anything but conservative. Perry tried his best in Ia. and lost badly. There is only a narrow window of time to turn things around now, and I think that he knew the best thing to do on Tuesday night. Someone, somehow somewhere, “straightened out” his thinking on Wednesday. Bob

That's not what i said. You may very well be right -- in the end we'll ALL know more about him after he's been vetted appropriately, but that's not anywhere NEAR what i said, which was:

... there are a ton of people here who were affected by our latest budget cuts (including me), and many of those people are very unhappy with Perry because of it, saying he's cold-hearted and ruthless and uncaring, blah, blah, blah. Too bad, so sad. It's time to slash and burn, imo. I'll vote for whoever convinces me they have the testicular fortitude to fight and not retreat once they get to D.C. At this point, i'll vote for anyone but romney.
So are you saying he IS cold-hearted and ruthless and uncaring? Or are you saying that he just wants people to think that about him?

BTW, i'm not "trusting." And i'm not "oblivious" either. That's why I'm here, trying to find reasoned discourse so i'll know who'll be best in November.

His presidential conniving is still under wraps---but when he entered the race---he had to file FEC reports as per federal regs.

Okay... and what do they say about the PACS, my original question?

Perry's been called the human price tag---every official action is for sale. One of Perry's campaign donors got his own Texas regulatory agency.

Who would that be? What were the circumstances? When? I'm interested in facts, not opinions. That's the only way i can learn more about our choices. If you're going to throw out claims about ANY of the 3 remaining conservative people in the race, you really should back them up with evidence to support it. Otherwise, it looks like you're just another one of the Angry People who are bouncing around from thread to thread to denigrate, which achieves nothing except make them f-e-e-e-e-l better.

I don't claim to be a Perry expert -- i'm here to learn more. Help me out.

No HTML. If you try to fix it, don't bother with rollingstone. I've read that one, and as one could expect with rollingstone, it's considerably biased, which makes it a waste of time.

........ there are a ton of Texans who were affected by our latest budget cuts (including me), and many of those people are very unhappy with Perry because of it, saying he's cold-hearted and ruthless and uncaring.......

That is a shame considering the Perry family is financed by your tax dollars----the Perry's receive at least three govt paychecks that we know of (could be more).

<><>Spouse Anita Perry earns $65,000 a year fundraising for the nonprofit Texas Association Against Sexual Assault.

<><>TASS is a Texas govt agency which receives "grants" from Governor Perry's office.

<><> TASS is also reputedly a way Perry raises funds (see graphic above)---plus donors to TASS get the governor to pay attention to their issues.

<><> Perry makes a $150,000 annual gross salary as Texas govenor. Perry, 61, just applied for "early retirement." He gets a monthly retirement annuity (annuities are tax dodges) of $7,698 before taxes, or $6,588 net. That raises Perry's gross annual salary to more than $240,000......incudes governor's salary plus benefits.

Anita's govt paycheck adds $69,000 govt dollars to the Perry govt income. We do not know exactly how many more govt checks Perry, and his extended family, are collecting.

Perry did get his son a nice cushy job at the bank that was bidding for the Texas lottery.

She’s saying she wants Perry’s supporters to defect to somebody, she just won’t say who. Probably Obama.

lol! Well i hope she's not getting paid by commission. Her methods aren't very effective, to say the least.

Meanwhile, i guess i'll have to just ignore her claims and possibly miss out on something i needed to know.

Let’s leave it at that.

When you have before you explicit facts WRT official misconduct at the expense of working class taxpayers.....

......but seem not to know the impact as to what that means........

Quite frankly-—I don’t understand the Texas mindset.

Wish I could help.....but I cant.

Sorry.

Blame it all on my Texas roots all you want, but you still haven't documented anything you said. I'm here for facts; not opinions. What? Am i just supposed to believe what you're saying? Just like that? Please.

I've never even liked Big Hair Perry, at least not until i came here to find out more about him. People like you -- people who are bashing other conservatives instead of building up their own -- make me more determined than ever not to rule him out yet. Blind anger is never good. Ever.

In the end, i would think a FReeper's polite request for documentation would repudiate any claims of being called "trusting" and "oblivious," as you seem to be doing. Maybe not in your world. I wish you could help, too, and i'm sorry you can't. Good day.

Newt needs to exit the race. Santorum is the winner. Get out, Newt, now!

Let’s quit with the ‘drop out!’ and get with the unite Rick, Rick and Newt against Mittens. That is a far easier road and we can do it before Super Tuesday.

My plan: 3 Primary Average

1. I will support the big 3 conservative candidate (Gingrich, Perry, Santorum) who has the highest average performance after South Carolina. I will go in whole hog for that guy in Florida and thereafter.

Iowa: Santorum (25); Gingrich (13); Perry (10)
New Hampshire: Santorum (?), Gingrich (?); Perry (?)
South Carolina: Santorum (?), Gingrich (?); Perry (?)

2. I would prefer that the 2 remaining conservatives then drop out of the race. They haven’t notified me that they’re listening, though. :>)

3. Any candidate could win this, even though Perry has cut himself by not trying in New Hampshire. He could finally connect in S. Carolina, though, and win going away. Only God knows.

4. My sense is that the Romney train will be stopped in South Carolina, so that gives us until then to make a final decision on whom to support. All 3 are acceptable to me. My bet is that Santorum and Gingrich will be neck and neck.
