Report: Jeb Bush likely to endorse Romney before Florida primary

Surprising. The odds of this happening, given the Bush family’s antipathy to Gingrich and Perry, couldn’t have been much higher than 98 or 99 percent.

Second look at political dynasties backing establishment candidates?

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush plans to endorse former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney before the Jan. 31 Florida primary, a Florida GOP source close to Bush told BuzzFeed Thursday.

The endorsement from Bush, who despite prodding from members of his famous family and prominent Republicans decided to sit out the 2012 contest, is the latest sign that the Republican establishment is coalescing around Romney after months publicly griping about finding another candidate…

The Florida Herald-Tribune reported yesterday that First Lady Laura Bush told a Sunshine State audience this week that her husband “and I wish he would [run for president.] We wanted him to this time.”

If there’s any significance to this scoop, that’s it — that the odds of Jeb jumping in late to shake up the race have now declined from a fraction of one percent to absolute zero. I want more details on the timing, though. It makes no sense for Bush to wait until after South Carolina to endorse Romney since Romney’s almost certainly going to win Florida regardless. He leads there in all the recent polls, one of which has him up by more than 20 points, and he’s probably the only candidate in the field who can afford the huge expense of a sustained ad campaign there. Unless Sheldon Adelson’s ready to pour millions more into Newt’s Super PAC, Mitt might be able to lose South Carolina to Newt and still bounce back to win Florida. If he’s got Jeb’s endorsement, he should roll it out a day or two before SC votes in hopes of pulling some moderates away from Huntsman and squeaking past Newt to wrap up the nomination. Having Bush stump for him there would also make for a sweet complement to the support he’s getting from DeMint’s more conservative allies, including praise — if not a formal endorsement — from DeMint himself.

Here’s Jeb with Piers Morgan back in October talking about how “consistent” Romney is, which must be the first term any human has said that ever. Beneath that,

I never understood the bot’s love for this woman. During Dubya’s administration she came across as an obnoxious self righteous old biddy. Whether it was attacking conservatives as being sexist when against the Harriet Miers Supreme Court nomination fiasco to pimping out BILLIONS in increased Federal spending on the National Endowment for the Arts, she was a disgrace.

Democrats: “Here’s your health care!”
Us: “We don’t want it!”
Democrats: “Eat your peas!”

GOP: “Here’s your candidate!”
Us:”We don’t want him!”
GOP: “Eat your peas!”

First McCain, now Jeb, whose next Charlie Crist? Or maybe Susan Collins.

With friends like those who needs a SuperPAC?

That “consistent conservative” thing is sure getting harder to sell

Even Rush Limbaugh and other “so called conservatives” have sold out. They are out there everyday on their shows and websites defending, promoting, and cheeerleading for a lefty called Mitt Romney.

Conservatives need a NEW voice.

Amen brother....!

Notice how all the “so called” conservaitves are falling right in line after receiving their marching orders from the estbalishment.

Just look at Limbaugh, Levin, Coulter and the others, all abondoning their conservative principles for a leftist marxist called Mitt Romney. Sad to watch but not surprised, power and money does tend to corrupt.

Bush stood by and did nothing as a woman died. Screw that SOB. And yea, I’m making a comment about his mother because she is one of the biggest grabbers of taxpayer money there is. Just like the rest of the Bush family.

Differences between Bushes, Clintons, and Obamas are of degree, not kind.

Well that ends any chance of Jeb ever getting elected to higher office......

Oh no, quite the contrary. He’s simply punching his ticket by going along with the flow. Loyalty to the establishment has it rewards.

McCain’s endorsement was the first kiss of death. Can Romney take more than one?

Socialism is OK if its “us” and not them. Cause we’re the right kind of people. Barbara Bush and Margaret Sanger would have been best friends, maybe in the same sorority at Smith College—— Hail, Amherst, Hail..... Rah, Rah, Rah.
And look out for them Jeeeeewwwws.

Damn yankees, period. Yengues- English-— neo socialist 1950’s british class loving bullcrap. Unreal. Southerners get this big time. Snot nose yankees.

At least Bush Sr. tried to make a business in oil. Took a while to run through Prescott’s cash and Harriman’s influence peddling. Brown and Harriman are still in business by the way.

The case you cite in Florida was handled very badly and was chickencrap on Bush’s part.

"There is a thread running through all of this."

Think if we started to follow the thread, people would think we wear tin foil hats.

Barry Seal always comes to mind when I think of the Bush/Clinton connection.

Again, I better not go there.

Thanks.

We know the establishment wouldn't put Neil B. up there as a nominee. So Jeb seems like a logical choice.

And since you point out his issues, what other sock puppet would they prop up as the "nominee" in 2016?

If Romney, who I believe wins the nomination, win or lose, the song remains the same.

These next 4 years are going to be tough on the american people.

Thanks.

Oh, yeah. Mena. That is really a matter of public fact. Seal worked for the co.(just part of doing business). And people think this has gone away? Do they think the Stephens banking family still doesn't come every year to the Master's in Augusta-cause Warren Stephens does (In 2006, Warren Stephens acquired 100% of the outstanding stock of Stephens Inc!)when he isn't getting greased by the clintons. Or that cash isn't dropped out of planes over rural arkansas and elsewhere? The banks, the laundries-- Hellooo? Fast and Furious. White Gun. The shift is north to Mexico. There is no tin foil in any of these facts, unless it is to shut out reality.

Mexico is run by cartels-- nasty horrible people with no education. In very short order DHS is already corrupted. The Coast Guard is no longer DOD!! The more you delegate and dilute the 'police' powers and responsibility layers, the more leaky is the system. Very well known and studied facts in national security. But this was Bush's idea to make people "feel" more secure. Sure.

Venezuela still has oil, and Chavez, and borders on Columbia. And our intel has stated Hezbollah is training on the Venezuela side, aided by narco terror money, with almostgotajob bringing mid range missiles over from Iran. Our backyard. Whose junta is gonna stop this? It won't be a mormon missionary M&A operator. Nor will it be a chicago marxist community organizer (in fact he is empowering these types, and destroying our Republic). It has to be someone to stop obamunism, cold politically shut down in disgrace for generations.

Limbaugh has really turned my stomach the last couple of days. Like almost all these "conservatives", and unlike the founders of this country, Limbaugh won't risk his pocketbook for what is right. Sad. I'm listening to him with different ears now.

Amazing how they get away with their criminal activities.

If we filled all three branches with republicans, Obamacare, NDAA and all the other unconstitutional laws would remain.
