Osteen: Romney "believer in Christ, like me"
CBS This Morning ^ | January 16, 2012 | CBS This Morning

Posted on 01/16/2012 9:22:12 AM PST by Saundra Duffy

(CBS News) Pastor Joel Osteen, one of America's most popular religious figures, said on "CBS This Morning" that GOP candidate Mitt Romney believes in Jesus like he does.

"What I see about Governor Romney is that he says, 'I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God, he's raised from the dead and he's my savior.' I see him as being a believer in Christ, like me."

Charlie Rose said, "That's enough for you?"

"That's enough for me," Osteen said. "There's differences in all religion. I realize Mormonism is different from Christianity, but you know what, he's a man of faith and values. And to me, that's strong."

"Do you believe that the Jesus you profess is indeed the same as the God who created the world?"

Mormon scripture teaches that "the gods" created the world. Little further detail is given, but FLDS/LDS "Prophet" Joseph Smith had graven images of Baal carved at the Nauvoo Temple, and he carried a Jupiter Talisman, so at the very least mormons believe Ball and Jupiter were among those "gods" who created the earth. Brigham young also taught that Adam is God(s).

FLDS/LDS Book of Abraham, Chapter 4
1 And then the Lord said: Let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the Gods, organized and formed the heavens and the earth.

Idol of Ball at Nauvoo Temple

FLDS/LDS "Prophet" Joseph Smith's Jupiter talisman.

You try to pin down a Mormon on their beliefs and they’ll squirt out the other side and accuse you of being anti-Mormon. That’s their out.

You got THAT right!

Actually I was thinking that you are unusually well practiced at misleading people in a way that is pathological.

That’s why they have firing squads in Utah because in the distorted way Mormons believe is that even the Blood of Yashua can’t wash away your sins. You have to atone with your own blood.

"What took you so long?"

Might it have something to do with an attempt at burying this article by posting it in the GOP Club Forum?

Away from prying Christian eyes?

Why not in the RF Sandy?

That's great, Unknown, were you saved recently ? Please tell us you story.

These very folks right here got me so mad I went to go prove them wrong...4 years ago I was here defending Romney. Needless to say I found out all they said was true, and then I was willing to be saved by Christ. 35 years in the morg for me, descendant of the Martin Harris family, High Priest.

"Mormons do believe that Christ is the son of God sent for ALL mankind and ONLY though him can we come to the Father. Whoever told you otherwise is not being honest with you."

Deg, you're the one who's not being honest. Doctrine of the breakaway LDS sect of mormonism is that you come to Jesus, ONLY AFTER being judged worthy by Joseph Smith, then you can go to the father through Jesus ONLY if:

You were married and went to the temple.

You did your geneology.

You remember the secret temple handshakes to get past the pearly gates sentinels.

You paid your tithing.

You fullfilled all of your callings.

You did all of your home teaching.

You attended all of your meetings.

You participated in that ridiculous "road show".

You never question the leaders.

And atone for their own sins by blood atonement.

AND

AND

AND

AND

And...

Mormons are prideful works righteous heretics who spit on the saving grace of Christ, and disregard his announcement that "It is finished.".

No they don't.

mormonISM teaches that their jesus is A son of their god, not THE Son of God Almighty.

The full name of the Mormon religion is Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So the Mormons do have some fealty with the historic figure Jesus Christ, and it is part of their testament.

Talk about lame. The Mormons have also usurped the title "Zion" as belonging exclusively to them...(even Jews are Gentiles to them). So because they call themselves "Zion" -- does that give them "fealty with the historic" Jews, too? Do, they, as they claim, have concentrated Jewish blood in their system?

Also, if the Mormon Jesus started churches both in Israel and the Americas 2000 years ago...and set up a dozen apostles in each about the same time (24 total)...then why do the Mormons only still have a dozen apostles?

Shouldn't they have 24 if they were a "restoration" of the church that the Mormon Jesus set up 2,000 years ago?

Your deliberate misrepresentation (hmmm, where have I seen that word recently?) aside.

What’s the matter?

Can’t handle the truth?

Is it embarrassing to realize that all you’ve believed in, bought into, worked for, etc. is going up in smoke right before your very eyes and instead of accepting it, you deny it. You insist on defending the indefensible.

That my dear, is the work of the devil within. He’s winning with you.

Just guarding the flock from you wolves, Saundra. Funny how you're always around with a quick little snarky immature comment, never present with answers or rebuttals to referenced quotes from your own cult's books, by your own cult's founders.

I am a Christian, commanded to expose the works of darkness which I will continue to do.

I am also a US Marine Sgt, and a combat veteran. I will meet you in every thread as long as you continue to try to dilute my God with your cult, and my freedom with that commie Romney.

Sandy you repeat this “I am being condemned to hell” crap all the time. It simply is not true, no one has said that. No one goes to hell except by their own free will, it is a choice we all must make - one way or the other - it is your choice no one else’s.

It's the "victim card", hard at work. I'd like to see one example cited, just one, of somebody condemning her to hell. CynicalBear certainly didn't do it in post number 24 and that's who she addressed the remark to.
