Since just before the last California presidential primary, the proportion of voters registered as Republicans has fallen from 33.5 percent to 30.4 percent, according to new figures from the California Secretary of State.

More and more, the people who vote in the so-called Golden State, are the people who feel entitled to other people’s gold.
It’s probably grown in terms of population, but when dependents have grown faster than population, it shrinks as a percentage.
Kalipornia is a lost cause
ANy population growth lately is all from over the border. Taxpaying citizens have been leaving in droves.
It will be a merciful act when that state falls into the sea.
This is one of the reasons why GOP candidates never go here unless it’s a fundraiser with rich bundlers. It’s a lost cause but I have family who are GOP members here and they would rather be GOP than Dumbocraps.
As goes California, so will eventually go most of the country. The Republican party cannot long survive in a nation where the takers outnumber the producers.
This chart won’t necessarily reflect the actual number of Republican votes in CA, because a lot of people who tend to vote Republican don’t actually register Republican. I am one of those people, and there are probably two major reasons for this: 1) the Republican party in CA is uninspiring to say the least, a more distilled version of the milquetoast GOP elites that we all hate at the national level, 2)by the time the Republican primary occurs in CA, the Republican candidate is pretty much a done deal, so why bother?
I visualize Californians swirling the toilet bowl while their leaders reach out and up to the flush handle.

Demography is destiny. California looks like what the US will look like in 2050. Currently in CA, one in four is foreign born and one in three is Hispanic. In 2050, one in five in the US will be foreign born and one in three Hispanic. Immigrants and minorities vote Democrat.
Oh, but it's worse than that, much worse.
The immigrants who landed at Ellis Island 100 years ago might have voted Democrat, but they believed in the core American values. They wanted to learn English and jump into the melting pot.
Not today. Everything is about diversity and ethnic identity. Those are things that split a great nation apart.
It would be nice if only the coastal counties between Orange and Del Norte would fall into the sea. Then I would live in a red state and have beach-front property here in North Orange County.
When CA soon goes broke, maybe we’ll see what self-deport means.
BS! Perhaps has a lot to do with the GOP-E writing off California when they decided to let Loretta Sanchez cheat Bob Dornan out of his seat in the House. Maybe it has to do with the GOP-E embracing the likes of Arnold and pushing for him when they have done “nada-zip” for any true conservative in Cali for so many years it’s embarrassing. Many of the former Republican registered voters did as my husband has always done... register independent.
There is plenty of blame to go around, but as of right now, there are no conservatives holding any state-wide office in California. And there don’t seem to be any Reagans on the horizon. Tom McClintock was the last California politician that I got excited over, and although Congress is a better place with him in it, I don’t see him being elected to any state-wide office in the future.
And yes, California has a very high percentage of “decline to state” voters, but most of them are not conservatives lying-in-wait to surprise the Democrats at the next election.
For an alternate headline, how about...
“More than half of California voters say they’re not Democrats or won’t admit it if they are”
