Rand Paul Says ‘It Would Be An Honor’ if Romney Asked Him to Be VP
WFPL-FM News Radio ^ | February 22, 2012 | Kenny Colston

Kentucky’s junior senator says it would be an honor to be considered as a possible running mate for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Senator Rand Paul first discussed his higher aspirations at the beginning of this year. He said he wouldn’t close the door on being a Vice Presidential candidate. After a speech in Louisville today, Paul held that door firmly open, saying he wants to be part of the national debate.

Paul’s name has swirled as a possible pick that would give Romney points with the Tea Party. When asked directly what he would say if Romney made the offer, Paul tried to punt.

“I don’t know if I can answer that question, but I can say it would be an honor to be considered,” he said.

Paul’s father Ron Paul is also running for president, and is reportedly close to Romney.

And there we have it, Ron Paul is coaxing up to Romney to put his son (who is no different than his dad) in the VP spot.

For all the Stalking Horse conspiracy theorists, here is proof positive who the actual Milt guy has been this whole election cycle. These two clowns are close buds by all accounts and plenty of stories have circulating about Ron’s end game. Getting his kid on the ticket in return for his delegates. Good news is that Ron isn’t going to come up with enough to drag Milts dead a$$ across the line. He is under performing from ‘08.

The Kos thing made me wince. I find topical art now and again and will pass if the source is disgusting like these clowns, especially if they have their tag on it.

I like Rand Paul. I think it would be good politics for any candidate to include him as part of the ticket. He’s part of the new generation that will make a difference in our country. The games that have to be played to get someone on the ticket have been played since the beginning of our time. Who cares as long as the outcome is in our favor?

Interesting. It looks as if this is Ron Paul’s price. Rand Paul wouldn’t be saying this if his father wanted the VP spot.

This must be the fix for Romney. Paul will throw his delegates to Romney for making Rand VP.

So in Virginia where only Romney and Ron Paul are on the ballot, no matter who you vote for you are voting for Romney.

How sad.

The Democrats did something similar in 1924--putting William Jennings Bryan's brother on the ticket as the VP candidate. It wasn't enough to beat Calvin Coolidge--in fact their ticket got the lowest percentage of the popular vote of any Democratic ticket since Stephen Douglas in 1860.

If Ron Paul is the Republican nominee in 2012 (only slightly more likely than that the Cubs will win the 2012 World Series), he could pick Rand Paul as his running mate, since they are residents of different states...but people would never vote for two doctors on one ticket.

I like Rand too but if Mittens has convinced Ronbo that Rand is going on the ticket, better check the disappearing ink on that contract...
