Harry Reid's Wild Speculation About Mitt Romney's Unreleased Tax Returns

Here's a totally unsubstantiated rumor: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said that he's heard that Romney did not pay any taxes for 10 years. Democrats have criticized Romney for not releasing more than two years of his tax returns. But there has never been anything to suggest that Romney's tax bill was zero.

The presumptive GOP candidate has said he always paid all of the taxes he was required by law to pay. But he has said releasing more tax returns would likely not quiet critics.

And so speculation has run rampant. In an interview with the Huffington Post, Reid said that a month ago someone who invested with Bain Capital, called his office to say that Romney, "didn't pay any taxes for 10 years."(continued)

We need to challenge Sen. Reid, Rep. Pelosi, Rep. DWS to release all of their tax records for the past ten years and Pres. Obama to release all his college records.

Tax returns are confidential. Reid is facilitating the commission of this crime. Looks like a golden opportunity to put Reid on the stand a get him in a perjury trap.

I invest with a lot of companies and I have never had any occasion to learn what their CEO's tax status was. Even venture capitalists investing at the start of Bain would be unlikely to get that kind of info for 10 years?!?!?.

So what is going on here is a man who can make these incendiary statements, protected by his position and party, does it to grab the news cycle. We talk about it and it inevitably colors the coverage as the DemonRATS and their media allies desire. Harry Reid is so slimy and low that he could walk under a snake while wearing a top hat. He won in 2010 by supporting the weakest GOP candidate in the primaries and then wins another 6 year sinecure.

Romney tried to nab the nomination 4 years ago. I have to imagine he was ready at that time to release recent tax records. These people have no shame.

I’d be careful though about disclosing the actual “taxes”. All he has to prove is he FILED a return. All the IRS has to say is they were accepted as filed or there is no tax owing. He may in fact have had enough preferences to not have owed taxes any one year, that can happen to non salary people.

Rasmussen polling just a week ago shows that only 35% consider Romney’s tax returns even somewhat important and that a solid majority of Republicans and unaffiliated voters say it is not important at all.

It’s a losing argument for Harry but I really enjoy watching them chase their tails.

I knew a woman who told me that a woman in her Ward (church) in Colorado, said that she and her twin sister were both married to Harry Reid in secret temple ceremonies in the 1980s.

This woman said that Harry Reid had met these sisters during some political event and that they knew Harry was already married but as the LDS church had once sanctioned plural marriage and few men had married other women in temple ceremonies though not consummated, they believed it would be Celestial unions only, until Harry indicated he'd like to "see more of them, from time to time."

The woman told my friend that both she and her twin "consummated" their marriages with Harry (at different times) and that the other sister was "with" Harry numerous times and even with child by him.

Harry encouraged that sister to marry (the narrating sister remained unmarried "in the eyes of the world"). The pregnant sister did marry and raised the child as that of her earthly husband but she knew that Harry was the father.

The other sister said that she strongly believed she and her sister were not the only women who became Harry"s Celestial wives.

The woman who told me of the story told me that she did honestly believe her "Sister (fellow Mormon) because she was a very Godly woman."

This woman who told me of Harry Reid's multiple wives, did so just prior to the '08 election and has sinced passed away.
