And the re-mix (shorter but much more powerful and gut wrenching) of this and some clips from the Superbowl advert...

If Eastood really bombed, The Left would not be working overtime to convince us that he did.

Yet most of the analyses of his RNC appearance are based on the notion that we were not witnessing acting.

When one watches a skilled actor in a fascinating performance, one can become almost completely hypnotized by the performance. You may lose all perception of time and awareness of your body. When this happens, one has entered a hypnotic state of deeply focused attention and heightened suggestibility. This is called nonverbal hypnotic suggestion. It seems like he was able to hypnotize the whole country.

CLINT needs to have one of his people send a pair of his boots to the chatterers from time to time .... to spit shine...they will at least, then, have done SOMETHING for their country....besides chatter...

““we don’t have to be metal [sic] masochists and vote for somebody that we don’t really even want in office just because they seem to be nice guys or maybe not so nice guys if you look at some of the recent ads going out there.”

I haven’t seen an “official” transcript, but I heard this line as “mental masochists” which to me made perfect sense. That is, any masochism going on is purely the result of mental gyrations rather than physical torture etc.

The most outstanding thing about Eastwoods sketch is that OUR side did it, instead of having it done to us. I always wished President Bush had fought harder to set the record straight and been more aggressive toward those who attacked him all the time. His style was different, but it still feels good to have someone of Clint Eastwoods stature using the Alinsky tactic of “ridicule, mans most powerful weapon”, against the one many who deserves it the most.

Eastwood should hit the campaign trail. He should tell the media what he said Obama was saying to do.

Libs telling us that Eastwood bombed is like Nancy Pelosi telling us the Tea Party was astro turf and not grass roots...

I have little doubt he will be equally sharp promoting Trouble With the Curve in the next few weeks.

And, of course, Eastwood will be asked about the convention.

I remain convinced that, if viewed through the eyes of an artistic director, Eastwood made a fabulous point with his presentation.

Everything about Eastwood's performance mirrored Obama's presidency; lots of hype and buildup, real excitement at a new and different approach, public adoration at the start followed with some really nervous laughter as nothing he tried seemed to work. Yet, he plowed ahead doing more of the same until people began to think it wasn't working, finally seeming to be relieved once he was gone.

I have posited this view to several friends who don't thinkEastwood is that smart, but I fully believe that he knew exactly what he was doing. He was mirroring Obama's time as president, making sure we all knew that it was OK to let him go.
