There is absolutely no explanation for how his head got so far inserted up his you know what. Back then he concentrated on being funny and stayed out of current events. I haven't watched him in almost a decade.

Well in the 80s, Letterman had an appeal as a sort of grumbling, self-deprecating underdog/everyman, who would poke at the pretentiousness of the Hollywood bigwigs and cultural elite. But over time, he gradually became one of them himself, and developed into a really mean-spirited, elitist bully who no longer knocked the cultural system but became a smug defender of it. A really loathesome piece of work, who picks soft and easy targets for his condescending wrath. And a disgusting perv to boot. After the Palin incident, I truly look forward to the day I see this scumbag’s name in the obituary column.
