To an immigrant such as myself (not the undocumented kind, but documented up to the hilt, alas), one of the most striking features of Election Night analysis was the lightly worn racial obsession. On Fox News, Democrat Kirsten Powers argued that Republicans needed to deal with the reality that America is becoming what she called a "brown country." Her fellow Democrat Bob Beckel observed on several occasions that if the share of the "white vote" was held down below 73 percent, Mitt Romney would lose. In the end, it was 72 percent, and he did. Beckel's assertion – that if you knew the ethnic composition of the electorate you also knew the result – turned out to be correct.
This is what less-enlightened societies call tribalism: for example, in the 1980 election leading to Zimbabwe's independence, Joshua Nkomo's ZAPU-PF got the votes of the Ndebele people while Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF secured those of the Shona – and, as there were more Shona than Ndebele, Mugabe won. That same year America held an election, and Ronald Reagan won a landslide victory. Nobody talked about tribal vote shares back then, but had the percentage of what Beckel calls the "white vote" been the same in 2012 as it was in 1980 (88 percent), Mitt Romney would have won in an even bigger landslide than Reagan. The "white vote" will be even lower in 2016, and so, on the Beckel model, Republicans are set to lose all over again.

Over the last few decades, the GOP has been "bribed" in the form of campaign donations from businesses in order to keep this racket going. The GOP never had any intention of stopping this insane flow of illegals. Reagan granted amnesty. Bush did nothing to seal the borders after 9-11.
And now we have a demographic problem and the GOP is beginning to see its own obituary.

I saw Beckel’s comments on Fox live. He was only stating facts, cold hard facts that many are still refusing to see. He said if the electorate was 72% white, Obama will win. If it was more like 73% or greater white, Romney would win. To his credit he did not make any value judgement about it. He just stated them as the cold hard facts.
I suggest a new acronym: POPPIWID, meaning the Purpose of a Political Party is What It Does. The purpose of the Democratic Party is to arrogate political power to itself by whatever means possible, regardless of the interests of the country or its citizens. The purpose of the Republic Party is to play permanent second fiddle to the Democratic Party, Costello to the Dem's Abbot, Robin to the Dem's Batman, Tonto to the Dem's Lone Ranger, always subservient to its master, even when it pretends to rebel.
The Republican Party is no more "stupid" than Robin or Tonto. It's just playing its supporting role in the bamboozlement of the American people.
Lots of people wasting LOTS of time believing that Romney really lost the election. 0bama stole it and all one needs to do is look at the resistance, stonewalling and lies thrown at Allen West merely for wanting to review the vote. 900 votes cast in a precinct with 7 registered voters does not bode well for the validity of this election. And we all know union hacks view CHEATING as a badge of honor.

Most of the non-whites Canada imports vote liberal or worse. Same as the United States. The only reason Conservatives up here won a small majority last time was because of unusual vote splitting on the left.

True. A lot of GOP-e refused to do anything to secure the border because they wanted cheap labor. Now the new voters making up that cheap labor are voting overwelming for Democrat politicians who enact laws and regulations that nullify and overcome any cost savings business may have made with the cheap labor. I could see this coming years ago, but the GOP-e couldn’t. Go figure.

Early in the evening on election night, I noticed that even the ‘Romney vs. 0bama’ Yahoo poll was frozen. Didn’t move at all.. Hmmmmm.. Romney had 57%, Obama 43%.. Hmmmmmm..
You know for a fact there would’ve been a hiring frenzy and increase in productivity in this country like never before seen in our history. Instead of four more years of consumer malaise and a continued assault by 0bama on the private sector, we’d seen a renewed confidence in America and our leadership again. Our military could once again be proud instead of being CRAPPED on by a foreigner who does not respect them. Just Romney being in office without even doing anything would’ve been 1000 times better than a Marxist Muslim gay illegal alien who’s hellbent on leaving America in shambles.
I believe biz would have waited a bit before blowing their $$ wad to see what Congress and the ‘new’ prez would have done....maybe a bump. As I put no faith in the GOPe, I don’t think the honeymoon would have lasted too long.
Sorry to disappoint, but if you believe Mitt and the House would have done anything to for consumer confidence or leadership (I give you Boeher as a prime example just now...SOME leadership), I think you’re smoking what’s in Colorado.

Well, agree to disagree. Real or IMAGINED ‘pro-business’ president, Romney would’ve triggered a massive hiring boom felt loud and clear across the nation. NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT.
