Wrong. Scott Brown was against the Defence of Marriage Act, said the homo-marriage was “settled law”, and ran ads in the last month of his campaign bragging about his positions on homo-marriage, abortion and his support for Obama judicial appointments.

By the way, McCain conveniently forgot to mention his “evolving” position on social issues in the 2010 primary. Disgusting old fraud.

Great Caesar's Ghost! Yes! Let's keep abortion safe and legal! If some mutant baby happens to mak it to term...wow(I)... what kind of failure is that on our part!!!

I'd like to ask this clown, McCain, if we have a partial birth abortion, if a baby has the temerity to stick his or her head out, and a serial killer at that end catches that head in a hand held vice and squeezes that head like a grape 'til the brains pop out...John...Baby...do you think that hurts?

I've been an activist Republican since 1993. When a pure...utter...card carrying loser like McCain says to the serial killers...you're Ok, I'm Ok...well, I'm outta here!

Y’know, no matter how much the ‘Pubbies become like the Democrats, folks inclined that way are going to vote for the REAL Democrats, not the fake ones.

Meanwhile, the ‘Pubbies are going to see the cultural conservatives, who make up a substantial portion of their base, pack up and leave. There is some place we can go - we can stay home and tell both sides to go to Hell.

I thought Big Tent means everyone welcome. Guess McCain just wants Social Conservatives to shut up and vote RINO.

So McCain wants the GOP to completely and openly become the Democrat party.

Ronald Reagan had a formula to bring together a winning coalition- fiscal conservatism, social conservatism, and libertarianism.

The GOP in the last election pretty much told libertarians to buzz off. They have also been telling social conservatives to shut up or get lost. So who will they have left?

I’m a big tent republican.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1821435/posts?page=18455
Here’s an analogy to work with. Take a small box and fill it with some rocks. Then add some rice, filling it to the top. Now take all the same stuff, but in a different order. Put in the rice first, then add the rocks. What you’ll find is that if you put in the big stuff first, the small stuff will fit around it. But if you put in the small stuff first, the big stuff won’t have room. The republican tent is the box. The Big issues are the socon issues, to be put in first. The little issues are things that can be accommodated around the bigger stuff. A candidate who tries to focus on the smaller issues first and leave out the bigger issues has no way of getting all of us into the tent. He splits the party. The candidate who gets the big stuff right and as much of the little stuff that will fit, he can fit more into the tent. We’re often amazed at how much rice can keep fitting in. Folks such as Rudy or Romney flunk some of the big issues, and on some of the little issues it looks to me like anyone else’s rice would do just as well. All that remains for us to agree on is which are the bedrock principles and which are not. Why would there be so much invective aimed at rudy or romney from the right? Because there are some bedrock principles that he is leaving out. Bad move. I see rudybot and romneybot postings all the time saying that they would vote for Hunter or Palin, and I see socon postings that say they would not vote for rudy or romney. That’s a BIG indicator of a few bedrock principles that are being left outside the tent in order to let in some rice.

Abortion huh? Abortion should not even be in the conversation. Isnt there something called the morning after pill? Where the woman can take one the day after, and the sexual encounter is erased? THAT is what should be done, but wont. WHY? Cause some Republicans, and I’m not faulting them cause it their belief that as quickly as sperm hits egg, the deed is done and should be left alone. Thats what they think, but I dont think that way. I think that to do away with it at that point is just OK.

dim-0s, O.T.O.H, dont want the morning after pill or some other form of whatever to undo the union, because they dont want to lose the ISSUE.

If NOTHING had “CHANGED” other than McCain had been a dim-0 and obama a Republican, McCain would be the prez. Same with Romney.
If Reagan had been a dim-0, his face would be on Mt Rushmore, had klinton been a Republican, his face would be on a wanted poster.

More conventional GOP Country Club RINO "wisdom" that isn't worth a bucket of warm spit.

[Ralph Reed in the Wall Street Journal] "Younger voters are one of the most pro-life segments of the electorate, with 51% of college-age “millennials” stating that having an abortion is morally wrong. A 2012 survey of voters 30 years or younger by NARAL Pro-Choice America found that pro-life voters were twice as likely as their pro-choice peers to say abortion is an important issue in determining their vote.

"Despite the Obama campaign’s accusation of a Republican 'war on women,' Mr. Obama actually won women by a narrower margin than he did in 2008; he lost married women by seven points. Nor did single women—who went heavily Mr. Obama’s way—vote on reproductive issues. Forty-five percent of single women voters listed jobs and the economy as their most important issues, while only 8% said abortion."
