It’s becoming clearer why Schweikert, Huelskamp, Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) and Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) were yanked from their committee posts. It wasn’t ideological, sources involved with the negotiations said. Instead, they said, the lawmakers lost their spots because they worked against their colleagues or leadership.

Huelskamp, for example, voted against Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) budget in committee, in addition to trying to bring down the farm bill. Other members affected by the discipline voted against measures in committee, as well.

House members can have any ideology they want, just so long as it is kept secret and has no effect on how they vote. < /sarc>

they worked against their colleagues or leadership.

Yeah, my congressman did that in 2008 when he voted against the big bailouts.

Huelskamp, for example, voted against Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) budget in committee

Not sure why he did this. In any event he gets a lot of credit in my eyes for this exchange:

"On February 16, 2012, during a contentious three-hour House Budget Committee hearing with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Huelskamp warned of the looming threat of an economic crisis similar to the one then taking place in Europe. Representative Huelskamp accused Geithner and the entire Obama administration of failing to correct the U.S.'s debt crisis, which he believed would lead the country down the same path as Greece. Secretary Geithner replied that Huelskamp had an “adolescent perspective on how to think about economic policy.”"

If you read the whole article, which many here do not, it states the Steering Committee replaced those guys with other members just as conservative and assigned other conservatives to other committees.

Naturally, Levin and Hannity get all excited without knowing the whole story.

OTOH, I am not in a position to verify that statement and research who the new committee members are.

Bueller?

the election's over, they need something to drive ratings. feeding GOPe conspiracy theories is one way.

Levin should be above that. Hannity not so much.
