McCain To Piers: When I Buck GOP Leadership I’m A Maverick, Slamming Rand I’m ‘An Angry Old Man’
Mediaite ^ | March 8, 2013 | Josh Feldman

John McCain has gotten quite a bit of attention after he took to the Senate floor on Thursday to publicly rebuke (which is actually sugercoating it) a member of his own party, Rand Paul, for holding a 13-hour filibuster on the issue of drone strikes. McCain talked with Piers Morgan tonight about his objections to Paul, and observed that when he speaks his mind against GOP leadership he’s considered a brave maverick, but when he rebuts the filibuster of one junior senator he’s suddenly the “angry old man” who’s out of touch with reality.

McCain explained to Morgan that he thinks it’s completely ridiculous to assume the United States would just decide to kill a citizen on American soil, saying “it’s not the world of reality.” He said that in the grand scope of U.S. foreign policy, there are more pressing issues to deal with than the hypothetical offered up by Paul...

While it's impossible for him to have been a worse president, the damage he would have inflicted on Conservatism is incalculable; he would have "reached across the aisle" to oppose every issue important to us leaving the movement dispirited and leaderless.

At the same time, the GOPe would be crowing about how only they could win elections.

In short, you're absolutely right.

Done, I saw one in favor of him, the rest were slamming him. Senile old fool! They need TERM LIMITS so badly, it belongs on an election ballot to vote for TERM LIMITS. They won’t make it so on their own, they like lifelong salaries and benefits too much.

Wrong, he should have gone to jail over the Keating 5 scandal. But some just couldn’t bring themselves to throw an ex-hero in the pokie. Now that he was compromised, all his benefactors needed to do was to pull that Keating string whenever they needed him to dance to their tune.

I took copious amounts of flames before for this and I’m sure I’ll take them again.

Benedict Arnold was once a decorated war hero as well. Once a hero, not always a hero.

I keep trying to remember when Mccain bucked the RINO part of the GOP.

I never called him a Maverick, I have had other names for him suggestive of a body part that we all have,

Juan is more interested in making himself popular with Democrats than he is in being a Republican. His party loyalty is more than suspect,it is just not there.

The plan was for McCain to lose in 2008. The farce when he suspended his 2008 presidential campaign, while ahead in the polls, to run back to Washington and behave like a complete idiot instead of a mature leader, is evidence he was knowingly playing the role of the fall guy in an election Obama was set up to win.

Look at McCain’s political career. He was owned and funded by Charles Keating in the 1980’s, He and the rest of the Keating 5 should have been prosecuted and sent to jail. Somehow he escaped with a slap on the wrist. He then started sucking up to the mainstream press and playing the “maverick” role which essentially means he is a Democrat tool masquerading as a Republican.

If he had somehow beaten Obama in 2008 Reid, Pelosi, and the press would have tied him up in knots. The economy would have been as lousy as we experienced under Obama with the press and Dems daily calling it a depression. There would have been no Tea Party in 2010 meaning Pelosi would have stayed as Speaker. In 2012 we would have seen Hillary destroy President McCain in a landslide or the return of Obama. In either case, McCain and his party would have been destroyed.

The globalist elites are executing a plan to make the US a third world socialist dictatorship. McCain is a willing tool as are Romney, Boehner, McConnell, the Bush family, Karl Rove, and others in the Republican establishment. If they weren’t intent on destroying the party to the Democrats, the Republican establishment would have embraced the Tea Party. They would support conservative candidates who electrify the electorate instead of running boring middle of the road candidates who lose. They would not be sending McCain and Graham out every week to be the face of the Republican Party on the Sunday talk shows. They would not shun and neutralize Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Alan West, Herman Cain, and Michelle Bachman while at the same time talking about the need to be more inclusive of women and minorities. If the controllers of the party were patriots, Boehner and the Republican House would have used the appropriations power to rein in spending in 2011 instead of playing into the game of making the party look stupid by talking tough and caving in a series of “crises” designed to make Obama look good. If the Republican elites were not aiding and abetting the enemy, both McCain and Romney would have run the same hard hitting campaign against Obama they ran against their Republican primary opponents. Both demonstrated they could bloody conservatives while turning the other cheek when beaten to a pulp by Obama.

John McCain fought in Vietnam and may have been a patriot decades ago. He may also have just been an ambitious son of an Admiral getting the combat experience he needed to climb the ranks in the Navy who was unlucky enough to get shot down. Whatever he was in his youth, since the early 1990’s he has consistently lined up to support those who are trying to destroy individual liberty and worked to bring down those who defend freedom. By his actions everyday he demonstrates he is not a patriot in old age.

Benedict Arnold was one of Washington’s best generals before he turned to the other side. We do not honor him today for his victories prior to becoming a traitor. Likewise I can no longer respect McCain for his past service. He is a willing accomplice of the enemies of liberty and deserves the contempt of women and men who desire to be free. As such, he has no honor and is not deserving of respect.

It is an embarrassment to me that the peoples of Arizona not only elected him, but keep reelecting him.

Something that could have been prevented without the 17th Amendment.

Where is Sarah on this? She needs to speak up against the bitter old fool.

You might be waiting a very long time...

She owes McInsane everything...

Without his pick of her as a running mate, she would be a minor player in GOP politics...

I'm sure she is biting her tongue...watching this

***Watching him sink into senility is not pretty.***

He, along with other GOP ‘leaders’ only attract attention from the MSM when they make fools of themselves.

As far as being ‘senile’ - this is probably the best example of geezer vs. young turk jealousy.

Term limits!!!!!

My opinion—McCain was turned in North Vietnam. a real Manchurian candidate.

This man is a Constitutional wrecking machine and I am sick if him.

Back in 1992, he and Kerry deliberately put the kabosh of the POW-MIA situation in Vietnam—we knew that only about half our POWs were released in 1973.

He even publicly berated the families of these men.

But the most disgusting thing happened when the former NV Army colonel who tortured McCain and the other pilots in the Hanoi Hilton showed up to testify at the hearings, and McCain went up and HUGGED him.

You or I—we would have decked thee b@stard.

He hugged him like a long lost brother.

That was the “tell”.

Not a maverick-—a sleeper agent.

FUJMcC.

It's a conundrum. If she attacks Juan she'll be called an ingrate and a backstabber and the media will pile on. If she should ever run again for public office, the meme will be that "Even the staunch, severe, far right McCain disavowed her." Conservatives will be on her side, but many, even here, are swayed by what MSM memes o' the day. They're like children who can't take their eyes away from the jingly keys once the presstitutes start shaking them.

If she says nothing, then she loses clout amongst her own base.

Also, she may genuinely feel a sense of loyalty to Juan, just as you would stand by a family member who was going insane.

In the end, Sarah will be Sarah. Perhaps she'll say she stands with Rand and just not mention McStain at all.

I was thinking the same thing but...

No, McCain doesn't see the difference.

He never has been very sharp.

Megan is definitely her father's daughter.

I feel sorry for Cindy.

Gee, now I know where Megan McCain gets here idiocy. John McCain is the epitome of what is wrong with the GOP leadership. When I see Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz taking charge I feel there is still hope for the GOP and America.
